Holy shite I never knew about the belief Jesus went to hell

Same. This is called adding things to the Bible that aren't actually there.

I hadn't heard of it either and that's what I figured happened

2. When the Romans are beating and whipping Jesus

It’s an overwhelming scene. The two big soldiers flailing him ultimately exhausted themselves. Bent over, hands on knees, sweating and breathing hard.

Apparently the Shroud of Turin gives some evidence the crucified person’s wounds on the back and sides were done by two people, one on each side behind the victim. Gibson adopted this interpretation of two scourgers in Passion.

When Adam and Eve ate from the apple, they sinned against God and lost their salvation in the process. The stain of their sin followed mankind throughout the ages and, when we died, none of us went to Heaven. The righteous among us went to what was coined by St. Thomas Aquinas as the Limbo of the Fathers. When Christ died on the cross, he descended to the Limbo of the Fathers and broke open its gates, allowing men and women such as Adam, Eve, David, Noah, Esther, and the like to ascend into Heaven.
Can't believe you posted all of this and didn't mention either the pegasus OR the unicorns.

Hades does not equal hell. He went to the Hadean realm, which is the intermediate place for souls waiting for the judgement. This longtime misconception is likely due to the King James Bible translating Hades as Hell.

If you’re not reading it in the original languages it was written in, you’re doing that, and even if you are, you’re still doing that. The Bible wouldn’t exist if it was difficult for the most pragmatic among us to manipulate and use.

Pretty sure all of that came from the Enoch books which were in the Bible at one point but removed.

Sheol is Hebrew which means grave.
