Bought it used $2,800 from an offshore hand who transfered overseas. It was a California car without air-conditioning. Got married and the wife soon convinced me to trade it in on a new 73 Cutlass with a/c. My GTO had the Firestone red line tires, burning rubber I had to replace the rear ones about every 6 to 8 months. It was an awesome car for a single, former Marine not far out of the Corps. It looked just like this.

Had 72 Cutlass that I bought used in 1975 and the owner had "special ordered" it and it was basically a W30. 455 CID with a aftermarket cam, Edelbrock intake, 780 Holly dual pump/dual feed carb, electric fuel pump, Hurst 4 speed, Excel dual point distributor and super coil.
Why did I get rid of that car

Not me, but rather my father. Sadly most were sold before I reached driving age.
My top 3 I wish he kept :
1) 1969 De Tomaso Mangusta
2). 1986 Lamborghini Countach
3) 1968 Shelby GT500 convertible

68 Mustang
Got it for $750 in 73 when I was in college. Sold it for $600 in 79 when I bought a new one. Should have kept it for a second car.

1993 GMC Sonoma SLE regular cab longbed V6 4WD. It had lived in NJ its whole life so she was a little rusty, and the paint was rough, but the interior was nice and it ran and drove perfectly. Came with a stack of service records. A truly small truck. I miss it.

Also learned a lesson. Keeping this as a 3rd vehicle for convertible weather. Less than 80k miles on a 2008 Volvo C70 ETA hard top convertible. They don't make em anymore.

Only vehicle I wish I kept was my first car, 1983 Scrambler. My father and 8 restored it, had a lift, open headers and KC light bar.

not because it was an amazing truck, but a friend sold it to me for $2000 in 2004 and i did not have a single problem with this thing from 2004-2012. no payments, no accidents, nothing ever broke. great gas mileage and only put about 40k miles on it in 8 years.
had two kids in that time and finally the clutch went out. wasn't that expensive of a fix, but she was done being the only person that could haul all 4 of us and my wife said i had to get something with a back row for the kids.
pour one out for old faithful.

1983 Toyota Celica - college car. Put about 150k miles. All I did was change the oil. The thing never gave me any problems.
This isn't it but it looked just like this one but mine had a 5-speed manual transmission...
