He was coming back to play a year with Nuss and get those numbers back in the 2020 / pre injury 2021 range and go first round. But with Daniels back, it’s a business decision.
This would make sense to me and I don't blame him at all. I regret how this all played out, but I would to be proven wrong.

I don't think a lot of posters here realize just how badly a poor throwing QB can make a receiver look. We watched it all year to the point where we were actually asking if the receivers were just unable to get open. They were being criticized because their QB didn't know when to throw or how to throw accurately. I'm sure the receivers talk and I would not be a bit surprised if others decided they has had enough of JD screwing their future.

I don’t have a problem with him going.
It’s saying that you were staying, only to reverse AND say he won’t play in the bowl game less than a week before that’s incredibly shitty.
He was probably scolded in a practice and this is his childish tantrum.

I’m also not a Bama fan at all. I just see things through more than purple and gold glasses. Boutte has an opportunity to make life changing money after choosing to play for his home state team not once but twice. In the end it seems like a decision he thinks is best for him and his young family.
He’s no doubt a top 3 receiver in the country and BKs decision to bring in a run first QB has potentially caused him to slip in the draft.
No one can make me believe Bouttes attitude at the beginning of the year didn’t have to do with who BK chose to be the starter. Also listen to Nabers comments after the Georgia game. What’s the saying? Read the tea leaves or something like that.

I know what I see on the field and I can see the future for LSU football, and imho, it is a mistake to continue to try to make JD a real QB. Let him play WR because that is the only place in the future he might play.

Leaving to go to the draft after the season, before the bowl, would be a rational decision, with which few could quarrel.
Announcing he is coming back and then backing out after being suspended during bowl week ( for who knows what?) appears flighty, immature, petulant, selfish and irresponsible.
That will not keep him from being drafted, but will cost him money.
Kid needs help.
