I'm not sure if you can or can't but if you can't then I don't understand why jet/plane travel needs to be immediate public knowledge. Sure record some flight logs for use if there's an accident or something but I don't see a reason to be able to track private aircraft. I sure don't want people tracking where I drive my tundra.

The issue of tracking his jet only became big because Musk brought it up himself. Anyone can go look that information up if they want. He's attacking the wrong guy if he has a problem with that.

I kinda hate the idea of this, while simultaneously glad Elon is getting the last laugh. A bit of a conundrum.
I am curious as to why he hasn’t just blocked his plane from being tracked publicly. That’s a pretty easy process.

it is legal to track flights. almost all flights can be tracked in the US. what is not legal is tracking a single person's flights and alerting your online buddies of their location. you can actually get in trouble with federal Air Marshals, US Marshals and FBI.
don't do dumb things with tools that are available to the public. this could be a federal case, federal lawyers are not cheap.
