Come to NOLA for a week and you’ll realize how good BR has it. Our ESPN station cuts out into a Houma country music station in certain areas. Gus Katingil is god awful that has absolutely no substance. I know a lot of people on here don’t like Mosconas hot takes but at least he prepares for his shoes and they have very little dead air time

Cullota has really leaned into the over the top sensationalism of everything good or bad that happens with the program which has turned me off.

Say what you want about Moscona but he’s much more measured with his takes.

This. Now that Jordy has his own network, he relies much more on clicks. His show is full of clickbaits, rumors, and hypotheticals. To me, it can really be annoying sometimes.

90’s sports radio was the best.

Jimmy Ott broadcasting live from The Caterie were some great times.

Hanagriff is great. Every other radio show host in BR sucks. But there is enough Hanagriff content to keep me happy.

Moscona would be good if he wasn’t so hellbent on saying things just for effect.

And, yeah, the BR guys are better than the NOLA guys. That’s not saying much.

The daily lineup of Condons Corner calling people retards to The Spicy One giving away Manda Sausage and flirting with Tammy from Olindes to Jimmy at Louie’s sounding like he’s broadcasting with a potato to Hanny at drive time. Great memories.

T-Bob is great if you wanna catch up on sci-fi nerd shite. Beyond that, he doesn’t bring much to it.

I always see this about Tbob but he really doesn't take that much time with it.

he says that BR has no reason to be as good as they are.

Baton Rouge is in the same town as LSU. Baton Rouge sports talk is better than New Orleans because the big money and establishment types in New Orleans don’t care about LSU. Amazing what having a massive school and teams everyone cares about in Baton Rouge will do for the quality of sports talk. You can only talk so much about the Saints. But at the end of the day it’s a seasonal sport that can’t drive year round quality talk. LSU > Saints in Louisiana anyways.

WWL doesn’t have any talent to actually discuss LSU.

Oddly enough, their most talented guy was that weirdo Seth Dunlap

I enjoy sports radio with the exception of the two times that I lost half my wealth from their guidance:

1) Recently, they were promoting some sort of college athlete BitCoin and that didn’t end well.

2) Prior, they promoted this trading of “Championship Game” ticket futures where you bought and sold positions on teams and you would then have the option to buy at face value. I ended up with the right team but did I end up getting tickets? Well, let’s just say they went out of business leaving a lot of people on the hook.

I just wish the radio host would be a little less like a “Tent Revivalist” and do their diligence before promoting ponzi-esque schemes so passionately.

I’ve traveled a fair bit and BR sports talk is miles better than similar or even larger sized markets such as Austin or Columbus.

Even WFAN in New York has gone through some ups and downs in recent years, though having Carton back has helped them out a lot.

Yep. Our opinions are driven by perspective. If you know very little outside of BR than it might seem like BR radio is "bad". BR sports radio is far superior than anything in the state, and it is pretty good nationwide relative to the size of the market. If you are in BR you basically get a full day of local programming. That doesn't happen in every mid-sized market

BR radio is a actually pretty solid if you’re primarily a LSU/college football fan. I didn’t realize how good it was until I moved away and had to listen to mostly pro sports news with emphasis on nba. Outside of the sec footprint, college football is secondary.

Hanny is great. t bob good at times. Flynn and Hester always have good lsu stories. And I think Hunt usually brings good perspectives.
