Looking for some ideas but haven't traveled enough to know the ideal place to raise a family.

Right now, thinking Charleston (SC) or North Carolina (no idea where but not Charlotte). Tidewater area in VA is high on the list.

I definitely wouldn't mind living around Roanoke or Blacksburg

I lived in Virginia Beach for a while and it was good. Lot of military folks, active and retired in that part of the state and weekend getaways were not far away.

Best decision I’ve made. Besides marrying my wife. My second choice is Lake Providence.

Where did you go? We almost moved there a couple of years ago and now it does seem that crime is escalating. Family from there recently went to Florida.

+1 for Tidewater, VA. I’m in Williamsburg/Jamestown area on the peninsula.

Depends where you are from. If you’re a yankee with shitty politics stay away from the Carolina’s. We have enough of you coming here.
