I don’t see how Kiran can win this case. Deelee Morris cited BRPD Policy in response to her written request for media access.

But I do know that he comes across as all hardass but when given the golden opportunity to go after the elephant in the room (SWB) he conveniently ducks and dodges out the way. So he's kind of a fraud. Kiran has more nuts than any other media member in the area.

Every one of the reporters in this area should be all over this story. It’s one of their own that’s being strong armed by Broome and company, and it easily could be one of them next time.

The fact that they aren’t knee deep in Broome and Paul asses over this tells you how pathetic they put

Right now Broome is getting ready to cut a deal with Republic Services to extend their garbage and trash pick up contract for ten years. Meanwhile our services will be cut and/or fees increased.

Yes, it’s the same company who nearly got run out of town. Now they have supposedly changed and complaints are down.

Has any of the media questioned the mayor? After the storm water fiasco why not?

1. BRPD policy doesn’t trump the constitution.

2. They told her to get credentialed through the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters, she did, and then they backtracked. Typical for this shitty administration.

The 5th circuit has already ruled in Turner v Driver that anyone has the right to record (AKA, become the media) with only some time or place restrictions. Meaning you cannot walk into a crime scene or an active shooter situation and interfere.

It's too bad for them that policy doesn't allow them to trample on someone's right to access public information.

Multiple sources said the chief, Patterson and Patterson’s brother-in-law Clay Young, who himself has a nearly $200,000 contract to manage BRPD’s Facebook page, had a private meeting to work out the details of her return. Multiple sources also said attorneys for Patterson nor the chief were at that meeting. But still, the firm will be paid $6,862.50 for defending the chief against Patterson.

That’s how money is kicked backed to friends.

We have to raise fees/taxes to pick up garbage and clean ditches; but we have plenty of money for lawyers and Facebook.

Yeah, this should be pretty open and closed if she can prove they're refused to provide public information to her.

Clearly people on the OT don’t get sarcasm……jeez. I assure you I am the only person in this thread who literally laughed at a former chief and IA investigator when they played the “BRPD Policy” card as support for actions that violated state law and the constitution.

My favorite part is going to be when they are deposed, and swear up and down that they were not singling her out for asking those pesky tough questions, then are informed that Kiran obtained their emails discussing punishing her. The big perjury charges are looming for Murphy, the Idiot, and Sharon Hyphen Broom.
