re: Wildlife Agents Placed a Camera on His Property Without a Warrant, Then Raided His Home

Many rural sheriff's use Wildlife and Fisheries to enter a property in order to find evidence. They may accompany them and wait outside or they may wait and get a warrant based on that evidence.
Wildlife and Fisheries can come in your house without a warrant on the grounds of searching for game in your freezer you can't account for or to question you about your outlaw buddies putting snowy egrets on alligator hooks. If they see your pot of meth on the stove, the Sheriff's office waiting outside now has grounds to arrest you. No warrant needed, no muss no fuss.

Legally they may be able to, but they're going to have to break the fricking door down

They raided his home because he “stole” an unmarked camera on his own property.
Did it say it was property of the wardens?
I have used a hammer on dozens over the years. All several hundred yards on my side of the line.
A battery powered grinder will also do a number on a poachers ladder or climbing stand.

Patriot act was a nail in Americans freedom coffins.
W and odummy. Took almost all of it away.

You have to frick with these guys. If you know where the cameras are leave them be and figure out how to play games with them. Make them waste resources and/or embarrass themselves.
I like that better. Maybe drag a fake corpse in front of it.
Id have my backhoe out there digging holes and dumping wild hog carcasses in them. Give the bastards something to do.

Looks like ol boy got in a pissing match with green jeans about baiting his dove fields.
I'm sure he was baiting (planting corn for a duck blind was his excuse, hahaha) , but I'd feel violated as hell if they were fricking with me on my own land like they did to him.

As long as I’ve hunted game wardens have had the right to enter pvt property to enforce game laws…the cams are a new twist and seem a bridge too far.

They'll also take your cards from the game cams.

What was he doing wrong!

Arguably during the Civil War. And things have just gotten considerably worse as time went on. In WW1, we sent people to prison for simply voicing opposition for the US entering the war. None of this is new. We just forget. We’re a nation of boiling frogs.

Using bait to hunt birds apparently.

Yep. We put US citizens in internment camps in WWII.
Makes you wonder if our freedom is more of an illusion.

Yep, Lincoln imprisoned journalists.

Maybe drag a fake corpse in front of it.
Maybe drive a T-post right in front of the thing and hang a No Trespass sign blocking the lens?
Do these cameras transmit a signal, or is it necessary for the agent to go on the premises and collect SD cards? If you want to find any such cameras on your property, would a signal allow you to find them?
I ask this because it would seem like a bad idea to let them know that you know where their camera is located. They would just move it to a location that you do not know.
Instead, just avoid misbehaving near the camera.

If he killed these agents, I'd acquit him.

Green jeans have way more leeway than cops do unfortunately

Would it be illegal to cover the said camera with a canvas bag leaving it right where the agents installed it?
