Green LEO are the only reason we have any game left to hunt.
I would not go that far, but I do agree with the underlying premise. They serve a valuable purpose.

The question is whether they have gone beyond that which is necessary to perform that valid purpose.

For a hundred years, they have helped game population thrive, without setting cameras on people’s property and spying on them.

Green jeans have way more leeway than cops do unfortunately

In Alaska, they are state troopers. They can do both duties.

Open Fields Doctrine

Never heard of this before. And after reading about a few cases, every one of them starts with someone snitching on someone else on their own property doing something "illegal"

A couple of cases with people growing some weed, another with a guy shooting an elk.

When I was in 9th grade my uncle picked me up from a deer stand one morning with his truck bed full of huge weed plants. He had been tipped off by some friends that my other uncle was growing a bunch of weed on our land and the game wardens had gotten wind of it. I think I shed some tears throwing all of those plants in the Tombigbee. Pretty sure the guys who tipped off the GW about the weed were guys my uncle (weed growing one) had turned in for poaching a few years earlier

The Open Fields Doctrine permits them to do this. I’m a landowner and not saying I like it but it’s legal for them to be anywhere on my farm other than my yard without a warrant.

You need to move to Mississippi if you don't like this - the Supreme Court there said the open field doctrine violates the Mississippi constitution and law enforcement (that includes Mr Green Jeans) can't enter private property without a warrant
