It looks like a fun little town to get away for a weekend, curious if anybody on here has been and what your experience was?
TIA
TIA

Mission Ranch is a good place to eat.It used to be owned by Clint Eastwood, not sure if that is still the case. Also Hogs Breath Inn is good. We just wandered around town and took driving trips.

I have been there a couple of times and it is a nice town to visit. Clint Eastwood’s Mission Ranch does look good. We didn’t eat there but we did have dinner one night at the Hog’s Breath Inn which was formerly owned by Eastwood. Fun place with good food.

Santa Cruz is better. Ben Lomond to Seven Mile (Panther Beach)…the surrounding area of Santa Cruz is just much more diverse.

Had plans to go there and even had a tee time at Pebble….in October 2020.
So I still haven’t been. Dying to go.

very quiet high-end town. If you are a golfer its heaven. Also, great hiking in Point Lobos and Bg Sur. Weather is perfect in the summer - in fact make sure to go in August when you have to pack light jackets and sweaters for the evening
Zero nightlife to speak up - street rolls up after dark

The wife and I stopped there when we did a Pacific Coast Highway drive down to L.A. Cool town, definitely worth a visit.

It’s low key, near Big Sur. Would recommend

Any town that would elect Clint Eastwood as mayor is my kind of place.

Spent one night there on the drive down PCH a few years ago. Beautiful scenery & some high dollar real estate in the little town.

Really nice town. But yes, expensive even for Ca. We ate a late lunch at Brophy’s tavern a couple years ago traveling up PCH 1. Enjoyed it.

gorgeous area as I did SF, Monterrey, Carmel, Pebble Beach, and Pacific Grove for my honeymoon years ago. Still remember the drive down PCH 1

Was driving the PCH from San Fran to LA and stopped off at the beach in Carmel to take pictures. But didn't spend any significant time there.

I stayed downtown in Carmel a few years back. Expensive. Nice. Pretty and clean.

Did the entire west coast a couple months ago and spent a week in Carmel; pretty place, good restaurants and shopping; definitely worth including in a trip out that way.

Did you do a thread on the trip?

No; too lazy, but have driven 12k miles since beginning of September including the 1/101 from Coronado to Vancouver; happy to answer any questions though.

We were there, maybe 6 years ago. Stopped for a night while driving up to Napa/Sonoma from southern CA, it was the weekend of Pebble beach. Ate dinner at Casanova, which was very good. Had a shared table with Brandt Snedeker's caddy, and met Jordan Spieth as he came up to our table to talk to the caddy. Cool experience.
