All of you guys talk about using Android/Samsung instead.

News Flash - they are all part of Google Corporation. They are not necessarily not evil.

Which goes back to my point. There is no way to truly avoid affiliation to the world akin to PETA/Vegans/Climate Idiots trying to avoid using the very products and processes they are protesting with one minor exception:

Being Amish/Mennonites/Quakers

And I doubt you guys on here will churn your own butter or brew your own beers...

Pick your poison.

Apple: deletes Twitter app but is far better at protecting privacy and preventing hacking/viruses.

Android: Keeps Twitter (for now) but sells you out as a product to anyone who’ll pay while tracking everything you do.

A viable alternative that isn't just as evil as Apple.

Elon to develop his own phone.

If Elon brought out a competitive alternative, I would switch. Apple can frick off, I only have it because it's basically the only option that is decent for my needs

When I had the Samsung I would send and receive low quality pictures and the videos would look like they were filmed by a potato. I think it has to do with the data cap and iMessage circumvents that

I love my apple products. But if they decide to get political and remove twitter because of transparency, my next phone will not be apple.

I can’t imagine getting rid of my Apple products because they and Musk are in a snit. Snits are temporary, FFS.

I switched to android for 3 years and it was unbearable not having iMessage and everyone else I communicate having it. If android or someone else ever makes a communication app like iMessage I would switch back.
I went through exactly this. The facetiming with kids & grandkids seemed lost when I quit the iphone gig.

I then found that Samsung Galaxy works just as well. You have to turn on group messaging. And the video chat calling is as good as facetime and works from someone with an iphone.

I use Consumer Cellular. Google has something like them. You can SEE what you are paying for your phone.

Once you go down the Consumer Cellular route and pricing. There is no turning back to paying nearly $200 a month for cell phone usage.

I have to communicate regularly with iPhone users. I have ZERO issues.

Apple and it's users are too cult-like for my taste.

Not a thing, I have used both.

My wife has a newer iPhone. She can communicate via imessage when service is sketchy, but I don't see any other benefit. She has to have it though, even though it really doesn't give her any benefit over what I use.

Lots more options for android than iPhone.

I left a long time ago when I left Apple as my Computer.

The messaging app on Android is fine, until you send media such as pictures or videos.

Because Apple uses a separate server so some magic way videos don't look like crap and pictures show up in the order they were sent.

This was almost a problem building a house and sent choices of what we wanted. Well pic 1 on the sender side {Apple} was different than pic 1 when received {Android} Also on Android you get the text and have to wait for pics.
