The only Apple product I've ever had is a subscription to Apple TV +, so it would take me buying the seasons of Ted Lasso on Bluray.

If you are talking about "here' as in Tiger Droppings you are correct but if Apple loses a significant amount of business in the USA it would hurt them.

It really comes down to sharing high quality media. The size of MMS messages are constrained by carrier imposed limits. So the vast majority of videos being sent get heavily compressed (by both the sending phone and the networks). A quick 10 second video could arrive to your wife's phone looking like absolute trash.

If any company loses 100 million customers, they are going to notice bro.

I wouldn’t be upset at all if we just went back to flip phones, or land lines. Having the world at your fingertips has made life a lot more complicated in many way.

I guess I rarely send anything besides the random picture.

And to the OP, "leave" is a strange word to use here. I own an LG tv; if I replace it with a Samsung I'm not "leaving" LG, I just bought a different product brand that time around.

I get that some people are heavily invested in being pro-apple and anti-apple, and they'd "never own an apple product" or "they'd never buy anything but apple", but I think most of us just want something that works well.

already left Apple when I sold my SE/30. I briefly considered their phone but didn't because it's so locked down.

The only reason I've stayed with Apple thus far is because their iPhones frustrate the hell out of government surveillance and Apple has not been very willing to fall in line and provide a backdoor for the various alphabet agencies to exploit. Once that is changed (if it hasn't been quietly changed already) I'm gone.

I don't do anything that should cause alarm or warrant attention from Uncle Sam, but I also don't think the bastards should have their prying eyes in everything that everyone does. So, if it comes down to it, I'll look at other cell phone manufacturers to find the best options and use "Signal" for texts and other communications if it becomes necessary.

If an American produced cell phone became available, I would dump Apple in a split second. I've grown rather weary of seeing our technology stolen and patents ignored by the Chi-Coms and others. Not to mention the spyware that is built into many phones as a matter of course in manufacturing them. (I probably need to add another two or three layers of tin foil to my hat now that I think about it.)

Google photos has a quick and easy workaround for picture and video sharing, but I still understand the hesitation to leave imessage
