You do realize that much of JDs success was because of his feet….something MB would never have been able to do—consistently.

MB probably had a better/faster release, but that’s no guarantee he would have done better….there was a reason he left, and it’s because he wasn’t going to get the start. There is also a reason for why he wasn’t named the starter.

The O-Line was a hot mess for a while and the saving grace to a lot of those wins was our QB mobility.

You're right. He gave up 45 points.

see how many yards he had in those 3 starts

In the first three games of a season against teams with no real training camp. MB was very good at hitting wide open receivers but wasn't good at anything else. Leadership is the most important attribute in a QB and I'll take JD's grit and character a hundred times out of a hundred against your Princess Myles.

And with said, I kind of hope JD goes early so we get Howard next year.

Absolutely true . Has a slight build and NOT fleet of foot . He would have gotten seriously injured .

How do you think he would have done on zone read plays or, hell, just dealing with insta-pressure due to our OL?

We wouldn’t do zone read with him, much more RPO.

And I’d be confident in his ability to throw hot with 5 men in the pattern. He practiced and played behind the GOAT for a year and has been studying college football since 2017.

I love that this false narrative about the oline is still being used, shows how stupid some people are. JD has held the ball longer than any SEC QB this season yet somehow the Oline is the problem. Rantards gonna Rantard.

Yea, it would have been pretty cool watching him throwing a pass in an all body cast..

My feeling is that Kelly came to the realization that MB’s work ethic and commitment was underwhelming and that became a major issue. Also, I’m not 100% sure that he quit, but was told his services were no longer needed at LSU

Myles would have read defenses better, seen the field better and made better decisions. He would have been incredibly better at RPO’s and would have thrown first, scrammble last resort

I think the answer is much simpler. CBK and Denbrock want a mobile, run-capable qb and Myles is not that. He had the least chance of starting of all the qbs on the roster because of that. He just did not fit CBKs scheme; just look back at all of his QBs from his ND time. You won’t find a single one like Brennan.

And herein lies the problem. Great coaches tailor their schemes to their players and not the other way around.

5-27 on 3rd downs in those games

the defensive actually set up multiple easy scores for Brennan via turnovers. Otherwise LSU may not have never scored with quitter Brennan at QB

I"m just going to leave this link here for those who keep talking about how many sacks Brennan would have taken. Seriously, folks, it's hard to imagine something being much worse than what we got on that front. And I agree that Daniels ran the ball well, and that he is deceptively fast. But he was a poor passer, and he has held us back on overall production. I personally don't want to watch another year of his brand of football.
