If the Rose Bowl doesn’t want to conform to what needs to happen for expanded playoffs. It needs to be like the real world you ether adapt, or shut down. If they don’t like it tell them bye and move on. I’m not that worried over a bowl game if it exist or not Rose Bowl is no different than any other one. It would be their loss!!

LSU
Bama
Georgia
Auburn
Ole Miss
Texas
Oregon
Tennessee
Auburn
Michigan
Ohio State
Clemson

Rose Bowl is no longer relevant. I enjoy the creativity of the parade each year but the game is whatever

This year again shows that 12 teams is a joke.

LSU, Clemson, Oregon, OSU, etc have no business in any championship playoffs after getting embarrassed on Saturday.

You are missing the entire point. There is only like 6 teams that have a shot every year. The rest of the sport is pointless. Going to 12 teams creates so many more meaningful games. It allows schools outside of Bama/ UGA/ Mich / Ohio St/ Oklahoma and Clemson being the only schools that ever play in it.

By that logic, why don't we just go full-blown NCAA March Madness and have a 64-team playoff?

12 teams is way too many.

And Arizona State/Florida State in 1996. Steve Spurrier should send the Rose Bowl Committee a candygram every year for the rest of his life.

By your logic, Match Madness and baseball playoff is too many…NFL playoff is too many.

College football is the only sport that doesn’t have a true tournament to crown a champ. 4 is too small, 12 might be too many, but it’s a hell of a lot better than 4 and the BCS

This is a joke right?

Then you think CFB should just be the NFL?

Best games the last 25 years, pageantry, played on real grass during the day...what CFB is about, beautiful girls, sunshine...Granddaddy of them all...if you hate the Rose Bowl, you hate CFB and just want a cookie-cutter NFL model.

Oh and the best CFB game of all-time was played at the Rose Bowl...and usually has the best Bowl games year in and year out.

agreed.

at most, it should be 6. Power 5 champions and one at large

top 2 get a bye

other 4 play into the semis (with higher seeded teams for the play in getting the game at their home stadium)

12/130 isn't too much, especially when it's no longer exclusively a beauty pageant.

No it doesn’t, it just changes them. Ohio St Michigan this weekend for example would be completely meaningless in terms of a 12 team playoff. And before you say the winner gets a “bye”. The loser doesn’t have to play in the Conference CG so they would both ultimately play the same number of games by the first round and worse the winner could play 1 more if they lose the CCG.

Your post is just proof of who the win it all or it doesn’t matter is what’s ruined sports

I love the idea of first round games being played on campus. We will get to see matchups that have never / hardly happen on campus.

That a fine but doesn’t change the fact you’ll still have meaningless games, just different ones from now

why does it matter that there's 130 teams? There have never been more than MAYBE 5 or 6 teams that actually deserve a title shot after 13 games. Having 12 is utterly ridiculolus whether there are only 20 teams in the country or 200.

It’s funny how we have lots of the “get off my lawn” types in here (myself included) that love how the game used to be. Then those same people shite on the Rose Bowl.

based on subjectivity, yeah. what's wrong with playing it out on the field instead of in some board meeting of ADs?

Because that's reality.

That's an opinion. And opinion is how we get garbage "champions."

Most of the time there are only 3 deserving teams. I don't want CFP to be a sport where 4 loss teams are winning championships- that would be ridiculous
