Many fans and even the playoff committee were too optimistic about this team after beating Bama. The reality is this is not a play-off caliber team and has serious weakness on both offense and defense. A great team may lose to an inferior opponent, but never in a blow out fashion to a 4-7 team. The team lacks talents in key positions and got exploited today.

They’re a playoff caliber team when they play their best football, no doubt.

But that’s the issue.

This team is too new to have the CONSISTENCY needed to compete at a high level week by week.

This team can compete with or beat any team in the nation when they’re playing their best.

Everyone knows this dude.

However, in spite of that, this team managed to knock on the door and had a chance. A very remote chance, but a chance nonetheless.

Sometimes it’s just fun to pull for your team. Foreign concept to a lot of people on this board.

You are half correct. The team has serious flaws correct. We are a plauoff caliber team just because noone is that good this year. Georgia Michigan and TCU all deserve a shot and i hope USC wins out because at least they have a solid resume. But besides those 4 teams if anyone else wins the title it would kinda invalidate the regular season being a team that didnt even win their conference.

As long as michigan-tcu play first round and uga-usc play won't be terrible

We’re not a top 4 team, but seriously deficient on both sides of the ball? Nah…

eATMe was fired up for the game - their last.
We weren’t.
We’re not good enough to not be on point and beat talented teams - which eATMe is.

A silver lining to this (bear with me I'm grasping here) is that we did not have a team that could win it all and we are way ahead of schedule - so had we gotten in and lost in the semis all you would fricking hear from now on was how Brian Kelly lost again in the playoffs and can't win a big one. Monkey on the back, get in his head type shite.

Now we avoid that. There. Silver lining. I guess.

Tackling comes down to effort. Give us a 4 out of 10 last night.

Breaking tackles also comes down to effort. Give Maroon6 10 out of 10.

Tigers mailed it in and got what they deserved. I look at it as a learning experience. They bought into the hype. Nobody is gonna be talking about them now.

Anyone who thought different was kidding themselves. This loss sucks. Even more so because it was aTm. But it’s growing pains.

After the Tennessee game, BK said this wouldn't be the last time this season he would have to get in front of the press and explain what went wrong in a loss. He knew.

I’m very happy with this season. We are less than a calendar year removed from starting a WR at QB for a bowl game. We’ll have an opportunity to win a SEC championship next weekend. If you’d of told me we’d be here at the beginning of the season, I wouldn’t have believed you.

I hate losing to aTm. The little brother syndrome is real. They printed cups. But frick them.

I agree, we had a good season, but we are not a CFP team.

Don't be too hard on this LSU Team. IMO they far exceeded my expectations or anyones expectations, for that matter. It was a fun season watching LSU play some great football. Honestly, who will ever forget that victory against Bama? I remember thinking before that game, this is what SEC Legends are made of.

Before the season started, I figured this was a rebuilding year under a new coach. I just thought 8-4 (at best). LSU won the SEC West and will play for the SEC Conference Championship on Dec 3rd. Regardless of the outcome, THAT is a fantastic accomplishment for Brian Kelly, his coaching staff, and the LSU Tigahs.

Congratulations to Coach Jimbo Fisher, his coaching staff, and those Texas Aggies. They played a knockout game. The future looks good for the Texas A&M Aggies.

The SEC is GOAT.

.....and just like that, the LSU regular football season is over.

I agree with you that this team still lacks top talent, but we should not see a situation where our opponent runs the same off tackle play to death but continues to succeed. Our effort on defense was lacking.
