Such a dumb take. Most cops never write a traffic ticket. Now if we want to talk about traffic cops and State Troopers we can talk. Like the LSP chodes running an inspection sticker checkpoint Sunday Morning on Hwy 59 and popping people on their way to church. What dicks. As if LSP doesn't have enough public perception issues.

Sorry, but I know first hand from working in the courts that this is simply untrue. Talk about a dumb take just to bootlick.

Nothing worse than a cop on a power trip who also has that kind of twangy accent.

lol @ the narrator diving into subject/verb agreement in the law... you cant expect a cop to understand high-brow concepts like that

Is this accurate?
100%

that cop was a total dbag...
but the fact that the judge upheld the citation for a vehicle having 'flashing lights' is absurd... in that case every vehicle on the road is against the law since the judge classified high-beams as 'flashing lights'![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)

He was arrested for not signing his registration. It was required at the time. The new law removing the requirement didn't go into effect until later that year.
The offense only had a fine for the penalty, no jail time. Cop was still out of line.

Wouldn't they have to prove he was flashing his lights for the sole purpose of warning people?
And why was it a "crappy" thing for them to do?
What if someone flashes their lights and there isn't a "speed trap"?
What if a speed trap is set up right after someone passes by and they have no idea there is one and then they accidently flash their lights, the police are giving someone a ticket based on assumption.

Also, that dude who threatened to fly a plane into a Mississippi Walmart awhile back has died in prison, just saw it on a notification if anyone wants to start the thread.

The cop specifically tells him he COULD arrest him, withholds the ticket, and when the citizens laughs at his "I could arrest you" bullshite, he gets detained. If the cop had planned on arresting him from the start, he wouldn't have written the ticket.

Just another constant reminder that the police are not your friends. The minute the arrestees sensed that the cop was starting to become an argumentative a-hole he should’ve invoked his right to remain silent.

90% of cops are pieces of shite who shite on the Constitution every day. The worst part is they honestly don't know any better. Be nice if maybe 15% was properly trained and educated. I understand its not rocket science.

Audit the Audit is a circle jerk for the any and everything anti police crowd

Guy lost on the flashing light argument and had the signed registration charged dismissed.
So the judge likely got it exactly wrong on BOTH charges. The cops and the judges in that town are both bottom of the barrel apparently.

Sounds like this officer was injured shortly after in a shooting that left another officer dead.
