Facial recognition still works whether you are alive or dead

Goddamn that's creepy to think about.

I hope the police requested surveillance video from nearby residences and businesses sooner than today. Most only hold a few weeks or so of data

I’m sure they canvassed the area and asked people where they could see cameras and stuff, but this is an extremely wide area of buildings, homes, people and businesses. Might have also asked on local news and stuff that we just didn’t focus on earlier.

If the killer drove off from the crime scene, it’s going to be hard to spot him if there were no cameras on the immediately adjacent streets at the time of the crime (which seems odd because there’s at least one apartment complex nearby).
Unlikely he would go into any gas station covered in blood, but if he needed gas and could pay at the pump, he might be on some surveillance cameras at any nearby all-night gas station.
Edit: There are a few routes he could take to the house, depending on where he lived, where he could bypass a lot of potential cameras.
If he took as many backroads as possible to avoid detection and parked behind the house on the road the runs behind it, he could have sneaked through the woods and crept up to the sliding door from the back.
Hard to imagine him not being picked up on some sort of camera if he used the next-door apartment complex’s parking lot as his perch.

Time to call Will Graham.

Any particular reason why you guys think he arrived by car? Just speculation or what?

I’m not even speculating. Just an assumption I’m making to see where it might logically lead. If he arrived and left by car, he stands a better chance of not sticking out provided the neighborhood the house is in isn’t lined head to toe with Ring cameras. Once he’s on Taylor Avenue, he’s be hard for anyone to pick out as anything other than just a late-night driver.
On the other hand, even if he were picked up by a Ring camera a mile away, he’d stick out. Who would be up wandering the streets on foot at 4:00 am in the morning on a Sunday?

The one thing that befuddles me the most is, how is there not a trail of blood tracks that show the investigators how the killer left the house and where he walked to? For as messy as they say the killer was in the house how is it possible they were so clean leaving?
As for the request for video of that morning, that could mean they may have a subject of interest but not enough to be sure. They may just need to tie a specific car in the area at that time to confirm a theory.

Detectives are seeking all outside surveillance video taken from 3 a.m. to 6 a.m. on Sunday, November 13th, from businesses and residences within the geographical area listed below. For fricks sake. This should have been done weeks ago. Who knows what’s been erased or recorded over.

Hoodie guy said he went to his family's cabin after he left the food truck area...certainly the police checked his timeline and perhaps asked him what route he took so they could check surveillance video to confirm he took that route...
I do wonder if the police were too quick to dismiss suspects...or they publicly dismissed buy privately didn't...we shall see...

Hoodie Guy' Seen With Idaho Victims At Food Truck Was Allegedly Kicked Out Of Fraternity & Has Left The Country
I’m not saying he’s innocent, but if he was, with all the harassment he and his family are getting….even when being “cleared” publicly by the police…I don’t blame him for leaving the country for a while.
Of course, If he did it and the police cleared him publicly, but he thought he might get caught later…I’d leave the country for that too

I still wonder why they haven't publicly cleared Madison's BF.

The Jack Showalter hoodie guy did it. No idea why he was “cleared.”

Folks on the Rivals Main Board, which is less crazy blend of reddit and the FB group are saying he submitted DNA.
Not sure if true but that is the latest word on why he's been cleared.

The more I read about this case, the less random the randomness feels. If it was a random thrill killing, the odds seem unlikely that the killer or killers would risk 4 victims. Maybe one or two, but to continue past that seems suspicious.
What this feels like to me is a case of someone watching too much forensic files and thinking they’re smart enough to get away with it. My gut tells me that someone had serious animosity towards one individual in particular and tried to hide their motive by killing the other roommates. If what was mentioned a few pages back is true about one victim having significantly more stab wounds than others, then I think you have to start there as your true target and see where it leads you.

still don't see how the murderer just vanished from the property. No video, no tire treads, no eye-witnesses, nothing.
Weren't there 2 other friends alive inside? What ever happened with them? Just curious what happened with them because of what I quoted from you.

FWIW, I love falling asleep to forensic files. I also agree with what you said about # of wounds.
