Winner of the SEC CG is in the playoff. Stop with this nonsense.

It’s not this simple. If you have 2 undefeated conference winners and say a 1 loss USC Pac 12 champ. And then 11-1 Tennessee gets in over 11-2 LSU.

We need a little help.. but there is definitely a path.

Consider this if we beat Georgia in a squeaker: 1. Michigan/Ohio St 2. TCU 3. Tenn 4. UGA I don't think they'd put 2 loss US over UGA.

Because you have zero critical thinking skills. Would tcu have beaten any top 10 team much less 3?

Beat #1…. We will have wins against a number 1, number 6, and number 7 opponent.

That’s 3-1 against the top 10.

What a fricking joke. The whole point is to put the 4 best current teams into the playoff. There is 0 discussion about who the better team is between LSU/UGA if LSU beats them a couple days before.

There is no discussion between 4 & 5. The winner of SEC CG is in, the loser is out.

In 2017 two loss Auburn went from #10 to #2 in the CFP rankings with wins over Georgia and Alabama. Had they beat UGA in the SEC championship game OR if the SEC championship game didn’t exist at all Auburn would have been in the playoffs.

The SEC championships carries a ton of clout. Even with 2 losses, no one else would have comparable wins over UGA, Alabama and (potentially) a top 10 Ole Miss team

If we win out and beat UGA we will be the 4 seed and play the winner of OSU/Michigan

Bro we have 2 losses. Undefeated TCU stays ranked ahead of us.

If ole miss loses to Bama, we can be in the sec championship with 3 losses and not make playoff

LSu is in the SEC CG unless they lose to both Arky and A&M. OLE Miss ain't beating Bama

LSU can go 2-1 in the next 3 games and will be in

The criteria change for the final CFP rankings once conference championships have been awarded. At that point a non-champion has to be clearly better than a champion to end up in the Top 4. If LSU wins the SEC, there are at most 3 other conference champions currently ranked ahead of them: Ohio St/Michigan, TCU, and Oregon/USC. Georgia, Tennessee and the non-champs from the Big Ten and PAC-12 would not be clearly better. I see Georgia getting in as a non-champ ahead of the PAC-12 champion by virtue of their blowout win over Oregon. In any case, LSU is in as a two-loss SEC champ.

does 2 SEC teams go to the CFP in that scenario??

If we run the table and TCU stays unbeaten that means one loss Georgia is out.

I think it plays out like so...
1. Georgia
2. USC
3. Michigan
4. TCU

Not a single chance if we are SEC Champions.

SEC champ goes. Period.

What would happen if Alabama beats Ole Miss and LSU loses just one of it’s two remaining SEC games? LSU at that point gets in the SEC championship game and beats UGA. LSU would be SEC champ. Think they’d get in the playoffs with three loses? No.

Everyone keeps pointing to the Penn state getting bumped by Ohio st to show we wouldn’t get in… but what ppl forget is that #8 Penn state was still ranked under Ohio state that year and played #7 Wisconsin for the B10 title; we’d play and beat the #1 team in the country. We win, we’re in.

If we win out and beat Georgia, LSU will be #3 and Tenn/Georgia will be fighting for #4. If we lose to 4&8 and beat Georgia, Tenn will be #4, but I highly doubt any SEC team gets in at that point.

I think we are at worst #8 on Tuesday.

1 UGA
2 OH ST
3 MICH
4 TENN
5 TCU
6 OREGON
7 USC
8 LSU

Now, we need to jump 4 of them.
1) Beating Georgia will take care of at least Tenn
2) TCU needs to lose. They have plenty of chances left
3) Oregon or USC will lose
4) so then the question is will we be ranked ahead of Mich/OSU loser and Tenn?

I do think with a conference championship we would. We might even be ranked ahead of PAC 12 winner.

2007 says anything can happen. Right now we just need to focus on locking up trip to Atlanta.

Exceeding expectations. Take cad of business and see how it all plays out

The only way we could miss the playoffs while winning the SEC would be if we lost one more regular season game while still getting to Atlanta.

Imagine how awkward that would be should LSU went on to win the SEC Championship. Three possible scenarios would be:

1 Georgia would get in after just losing to the SEC Champions.
2 Tennessee would get in without even reaching the SEC Championship
3 The SEC would be shut out of the Playoffs.

Talk about the 8 team playoff system discussion suddenly getting into hyper-drive.
