#7 Bert "The Ruston Rifle" Jones.
I still remember Jones to Davis with 4 seconds left and then the PAT, like it was yesterday. (Sitting on about the 5 yard line of the West Side (South of the 50) a few rows up.

Freshman in Tiger Band for that game; NW end of stadium. We played the fight song continuously for the last 3 plus minutes of the game when LSU got the ball on their own 20 yard line. When Davis scored, we all went crazy! We played music in the stands for 30 minutes after the game-no one left except the Ole Miss fans!

craig burns. I lived next door to him when i was 6. He and his brothers told me they were going to hang me by toes every time they saw me.
warren capone. He came to my first Dead party with his super bowl ring. he was out of football and did not weigh even 200 pounds.
bo strange. I was told to go clear a lake of unattended trot lines. One broke and I looked down to see the shank of a fish hook in my hand. My friends hauled me to Doc's house and he got the hook out of my hand. Two years later he took care of my broken arm and remebered the fish hook.

Ramsey Dardar, because he was from my hometown and graduated with one of my older siblings. Also, Willie Teal and Carlos Carson were my favorites as a kid when I first started following LSU sports.

Alan Faneca
As good as Faulk, Mealey, etc. were, Faneca was a key to that run game. He was one of the best guards I've ever watched.
LSU rushing during the Faulk years:
1995 (Faulk/Faneca both freshmen) 4.42 YPC
1996 (Faulk/Faneca both sophomores) 4.76 YPC
1997 (Faulk/Faneca both juniors) 5.42 YPC
1998 (Faulk senior/no Faneca) 4.29 YPC
Obviously more factors went into that, but the year after Faneca left, our YPC dropped by 1.13 yards. That dude was pretty good.

Tommy Casanova. Not that I need any reason other than his greatness as a football player but I played touch football games with him in my Kenner neighborhood when he would visit his cousin who was one of my good friends.

#1 will always be Dalton Hilliard.
Those ‘95-97 teams were fun but I was a student then. Faulk was awesome but different because I had grown up competing against him.

Andy Hamilton. I wore 80 in high school because of him and Doug Moreau. For a few years, 80 was the 18 or 7 for the LSU receivers (split ends or flankers in those days.

All good choices here. Slight diversion: Go back and watch an in-depth summary of the 2019 season and CEH might make at least honorable mention up against any of the 20th Century players.
He was in absolute beast mode at moments when victory or loss hung in the balance.
The want in him was great.

For the name alone, Gawain DiBetta.
Because I taught him freshman composition in 1971, Steve Rogers.
