Tyrann Mathieu.

I first realized he was going to be special when I saw him in the 2010 Cotton Bowl against A&M.

I saw him go completely horizontal to intercept a pass and I was floored. The whole game was pretty much his coming-out party.

This whole video from the Cotton Bowl is worth watching, but here's the clip of the interception:

This forced fumble was also a thing of beauty (and a preview of what was to come):

It’s Todd Kinchen. When I was a youngin’ I started to discover my LSU fandom around the time he was making a name for himself. 7-8 year old me loved watching him play no matter the state of the program at the time.

Also Kevin Faulk, Eddie Kennison, Herb Tyler, Troy Twillie (duh)—you could really pick 15 or 20 guys from the 95 team.

ETA: Still one of the most exciting plays I’ve seen:

Whoops, you're absolutely right, and now I must wear the collar of shame for not reading the post title correctly.

[EDIT]

Damn, tried to do the right thing and whacked my other post about 21st-century favorites to post in this thread instead because I didn't want to start duplicate threads.

FWIW my fave 20th-century LSU player is Dalton Hilliard. Him and Gary James in the backfield was lethal (anyone remember the Dalton-James Gang?)
