If you are straight it is your fault the movie ‘Bros’ didn’t do well

The movie is a romantic comedy about homosexuals.
And from the writer:

And from the writer:
quote:
“That’s just the world we live in, unfortunately,” Eichner continued on Twitter. “Even with glowing reviews and great Rotten Tomatoes scores, an A CinemaScore etc., straight people, especially in certain parts of the country, just didn’t show up for ‘Bros.’ And that’s disappointing but it is what it is.”
quote:
Everyone who ISN’T a homophobic weirdo should go see ‘Bros’ tonight! You will have a blast! And it *is* special and uniquely powerful to see this particular story on a big screen, esp for queer folks who don’t get this opportunity often. I love this movie so much.”

You see, it probably is a decent movie. However, the way they market this stuff is just silly. We saw that same thing with that Elizabeth Banks Charlies Angels movie.

What different things some people do with their genitalia is not "powerful". I mean, there are people who get off on people in mascot costumes, but it's not "powerful".
Band of Brothers was "powerful". This is just a gay movie and the market is flooded with it right now.

You're welcome.

i mean he's not wrong, in a sense. we choose not to spend our money on gay sex movies. however, upstream of THAT fault, lies a fault in whomever greenlit a gay sex movie expecting a bunch of straight guys to go watch it.

Heterosexual people don't want to sit in discomfort watching dudes talk about fricking each other.
That's not homophobia, that's reality

Kudos to the 11 “rotten” reviews so far. I’m sure they’ve been continually harassed since the time they reviewed it.

Meh. It looked like another stale left over Apatow comedy. The marketing team failed big time on that one

We called this early. It didn't fail because the movie sucked and had limited appeal to start with. No, you straight people are all bigots. Watch your propaganda.

Homosexual romance grosses me out. Hence I’m not fricking gay, hence I don’t want to see this movie. It’s not rocket appliances.

Oh noes! A movie was a box office bust! What a tragedy!

Movies used to be made for everyone, despite less "diversity."
Now, creators go out of their way to TELL potential audience members that the movies are not made for them, and when they subsequently don't show up...they attempt to blame the people they told the movie wasn't for.
Flip side of that is Disney/Marvel taking IPs which used to be predominantly the pastime of straight white men, and taking it from them and aiming all new content at women and gay people...which has made straight white men walk away in droves and much like the WNBA which can't draw female crowd, the new preferred target demographic doesn't show up.
Hilarious.

Looking forward to the fourth thread on this. This movie is enjoying the hell out of the free advertising on TigerDroppings.

the premise of the movie is ok. id maybe give it a watch.
im not going to see it because:
1. i dont like rom coms to begin with
2. I like Eichner enough in small doses. any more than that he gets irritating. he cant carry a whole movie.

Called it.
quote:
That's just it, whether you see it that way or not isn't what matters.
To the LGTBQANUS crowd and their "allies", celebration equals acceptance. Thus, anything less than celebrating them is not accepting them (see also: you can't simply be non-racist now, you have to be stridently anti-racist in order to not be considered a racist). This crowd is very binary (irony) in that if you aren't accepting them then you must be phobic (no middle ground).
This movie was to be a celebration of the normalization of "love is love" through the vehicle of a male homosexual comedy. It bombed, which means it isn't being celebrated by the vast majority of movie-goers. If there's no widespread celebration, then that means no acceptance which means the entire community is suffering the brutal injustice of the majority of the population being phobic against them.
By not going to see it you've proven that you're likely at any moment to go out and beat up someone just for being gay.
That's just the way they think, you'll see this proven by how they frame the movie's failure as being the fault of people not going to see it.
Ray Charles could see this coming.

Just gonna break it down for the Liberal idiots: Most normal, decent people find the thought of two men having butt sex to be disgusting.
There it is, it's that simple.
Fact is, in 2022 the Gay Community have decided that instead of being INDIVIDUALS, they will be defined by what they do with their genitals.
Ok, have it your way.
Now STFU and stop blaming the folks that built Western Civilization for your numerous failings.

Homosexual lifestyle isn't my interest. I also think it's abhorrent behavior. I'm not going to pay to watch something that disgusts me.
