Cedar fence seal to keep natural look?

Getting a cedar fence - anyone know what the best stain or seal to use? Would even consider a grey tone of keeping the natural look isn’t possible. Thanks

I would think any semi transparent or water based stain would be fine.

A clear sealant like Thompson’s weather guard will work. Just make sure your wood is ready to be stained/ sealed. If you put water on it and it beads up, it won’t absorb the stain and won’t last. If the water absorbs into the wood then you’re good to go.

Why does no one in the south use vinyl fencing? It lasts forever and looks so much nicer, especially once that shitty wood starts falling apart in a few years.

Blows to shreds with the slightest hurricane. Nightmare when I worked for a company that used vinyl fencing for all their properties country wide.

What kind of cedar is it?
Eastern so-called cedar isJuniperous virginiana and when just split is red to the center and gray in the softwood. As it ages, it all is gray. It is especially long lived in split rain fences (fifty years in Virginia with that level of rainfall and sunlight).
Western cedars ???
