One got drafted 1st overall and one got kick off the team when he was supposed to be the starting quarterback that season, which is something that literally ever happens.

How is this a serious question?

Are you talking NFL? Cause Jamarcus is one of the best QBs we’ve ever had. Jimbo’s shitty playcalling held our offense back a lot post 2003.

Maybe the question could be re-framed as in:

Using a scale of 0-10, what's the ratio of their accomplishments / raw potential first day on campus = who scores higher?

IMO:
JR is 9/9 = 1
RP is 3/10 = .3

So RP was a much bigger bust in college. That said, RP contributed more to his SEC and natty ring than JaMarcus did.

Both played/got paid well in the NFL. They were not bust. As a society we have to realize that. Some people play well, some people don't.

Well JR was not a bust as far as LSU is concerned so this is a dumb topic. What’s the desire to shite on ex LSU players that gave their all to the program but didn’t have the best professional careers?

Perrilloux for sure, guy had all the talent in the world but couldn't keep out of trouble. He had that history long before he got to LSU and never changed his ways.

Jamarcus won the Tigers a lot of football games. Ryan Perrilloux did not.

Jamarcus is a top 5 QB ever to suit for LSU, He lived up to the hype in college. Perrilloux will always be one of the biggest what if’s ever because I fully believe that 2009 team is a championship contender with him at QB.

No question. The wheels fell off in the pros but Jamarcus was the truth in college. Perrilloux might be the biggest what if in LSU history. If he's still on those '08 and '09 teams they could've been a contender instead of going 8-5 and 9-4. Not so much in '08 but that '09 team could've done something with a legit QB.

Not having him in '08 had a lasting effect on Les Miles. He was shell shocked after seeing all of those pick 6s.

I agree with you, but I know some of these old timers would throw in Hodson and Bert Jones just to argue.

One dude got rich in NFL living up his hype to college the other didn't. Seems like the answer is pretty obvious.

Maybe not a lot but Perriloux' win in the SECCG was quite a bit bigger than any of JR's wins. And he was a solid contributor that whole season.

You could make a case for Cecil Collins also, if you're talking about any LSU football player . Guy could have easily been a first rounder.

I trace a lot of LSU quarterback problems directly back to Perriloux...how much better would Jarrett Lee have been with time to develop? 2008 and 2009 seasons would have been a lot different with Perriloux at QB.

Hodson was a 4X all-SEC QB. Pretty rare feat. Bertram played in a 2QB system and was the #2 overall pick. He won an NFL MVP. Yelberton is already in the NFL HoF.

They all deserve to be in any discussion about our all-time greats.

Sounds like some just ignore history to avoid debate. Haha.
