re: Jayden Daniels stats for year

I question if Daniel's upside out of high school was so good that what he did at ASU was simply a continuation of what he was doing in high school. It was a very good match of skills to system his first year there. As surrounding talent started to wane, his numbers did the same.
I noticed a few passes over the middle last night that I don't recall seeing in his first three games. They were into tight quarters and on the money being caught in stride. Bech had one and Jenkins had at least two. While UNM may not be the level of defense seen at the very top of the SEC, those skills appear to be getting polished as he has more time with this coaching staff.

So happy to have a coaching staff that knows how to develop QBs.

Come on, man. Pretty much every year the backup quaterback is the most popular player on the team.
And the coach needs to be fired.

No one is "hating" on him, just stating he could improve a lot in the passing game.
There are plenty of people hating on him. There were a ton of threads started in the first half of the MSU game begging to bench him, calling him trash/saying he sucks, you name it. There was one guy who was bitching when we took the lead because it meant Daniels wouldn’t be benched.
Many of them (though not all) have been rather quiet since the end of the MSU game. You’ll see them come out in droves as soon as we are behind in another game.
You may not be part of that group, but they absolutely exist.

I think people are concerned that his inability to hit open WRs down field will inhibit the offense against better defenses
The SEC does not have all these dominant defenses that people think they do. FSU and State are two of the better defenses they will face all year.

C'mon man. Burrow spoiled everyone. I'd take balance over one dimensional every time. Bama fans said the same thing about Jay Barker. Lsu has a lights out defense.

Correct and FSU will have 4 guys on this Defense get drafted Next April, and that is not counting Verse the transfer that everybody wanted including LSU.
Their talent level was way better than how they played last year.

we need to put him in a "modern offense"
the stupidity of this website truly is fascinating

My biggest concern is receivers hitting the portal because it will become apparent they cannot showcase their talents with Daniels at QB. But whatever, Daniels won't be the first QB I disliked and rantards loved. Still rooting for him, just don't think he is the best option in the big picture.

I agree with this. Does Boutte sit out yesterday if we have a qb who is better at passing the football? I think this is a fair question

And, every one of them is too stupid to know how stupid he (the poster) is. [I feel I had to explain the "he" in that last sentence because those same posters would be too stupid to realize I wasn't referring to Daniels.]

He was never the issue. It's how some of the players would react to BK was the worrisome part.

You people are insane. He missed a purple jersey game against a team we beat 38-0 because he had his first child. What world do you live in?

While he’s clearly limited, I laughed my arse off when someone compared him to Jefferson.
After 4 games he’s approaching JJ’s entire junior year (2010) production.
Counting rushing TDs, JJ had a 14:10 ratio while JD is at 8:0.

Do it against a team that matters and I will agree

He did well against both, especially in the stages of the game that counted the most.
I have no desire to see some 'gunslinger' (Nuss, Daniels, or anyone else) who puts up numbers in a game where it's already a loss.
Daniels has shown that when the chips are down, HE will be at his best. He put Miss State away, and did everything he could to put us in OT against Fla State. 99 yd drive in under 2 minutes, down 7... that's what you pray for.
If people want to transfer out because they're not getting showcased- maybe they need to get out, and we bring in guys who want to play to win for LSU.

Here we go with this shite again. Fans criticize Quarterbacks all the time...why is it an agenda if the QB happens to be black? You would have a hard time finding an LSU fan that doesn't love Herb Tyler or Rohan Davey.

I'm not sure what game the people who say this shite are watching. Our WRs caught 25 of the 33 completions yesterday. Another 5 went to Mason and Kole Taylor and three went to running backs. BTJ averaged over 25 yards per catch. Nabers, Jenkins and Bech all had 5 or more catches. Lacy had 4. BTJ had 3.
How exactly are the skill guys not able to showcase their abilities???
