Let's ban fastfood while we're at it. How many people have died of heart disease in the past year?

Hate it. I shoudln't be forced to have to pay more money for extra equipment becuase someone else may, at some point, made a bad decision. If it was required for habitual drunk drivers like some currently have to have an interlock system or whatever, then sure! All for it. But it shouldn't be required for all drivers just because of the poor decisions of a few.

I am anti-breathalyzer in cars, but you can use your logic for seatbelts.

Except you don’t eat a cheeseburger and plow into a church van full of kids.

300 million cars in the US need a breathalyzer because of 10,000 wrecks?

The problem comes when the shitty GM part breaks and you are sober and need to get to work.

So, even though I don't drink, I would still have to pay extra to have such interlock installed on my car and have to go the extra hassle of blowing into the tube every time I start the car? And if I was opposed to any of this, this somehow means that I support drunk driving?

Hey, Amos, why don't you come blow me every time I'm having to blow into a tube to start my car?

Eating while driving is incredibly dangerous.

We should ban drive throuhs while were at it. We should also have tech to determine if women are wearing makeup when they get in the car. The number of women I see putting lipstick or mascara on while in traffic is spine chilling.

My question is does people think it's going to stop there?

Cars that won't let you drive if you have what they deem the wrong political views.

Cars that won't let you drive because the government declares a shutdown over a case of the sniffles.

Cars that won't let you drive past a particular time of day or night

Cars that won't let you drive after so many miles in a week/month

And so on and on. Slippery slopes do exist

Cool. Let's have your house rigged with cameras so we can make sure you're not committing any crimes there too.

The way you chopped that quote up implies you disagree with some of what I said.

It only took one post for you to go from drunk driving to trying to get a dude to suck your dick.

Let's add some form of locking mechanism that firmly attaches your hands to the steering wheel while the car is in motion. Even one death is too much and worth paying extra to prevent it.

Bro, if you're not doing anything wrong, you have nothing to worry about. Why do you want people to die?!

All just chatter... do you think the government wants to give up the revenue they get from DUI's, or the defense Lawyers and their lobby is willing to give up that revenue stream? The automobile industry lobby will make a couple donations, so they don't have this added expense cutting into profits.. If you think anything is ever about safety and what is best for the general public, then you are crazy.

Ok. My issue isn't with stopping drunk drivers. It's with yet another device between you and starting your vehicle.
Is crazy how complex modern ignition systems are. Then add this. What if it fails? So everyone would need to have a breathalyzer every time they start their car? It just seems too restrictive. How will rental cars handle it?
