If you are just finishing the wire, wife and I did 6 feet under after the wire last year. It is now one of ny favorite shows. Easy to get lost in and one of the best ever character development shows.

If you like weird stuff, the leftovers is my favorite show of all time. 6 feet and leftovers are on hbo

Would also recommend Justified

You answered it right there. Want something that will take weeks upon weeks of your life, start up LOST.

ETA: Also, The Man in the High Castle.

Based on your viewing history, any of the other golden age HBO dramas are a good bet for what you seem to like:

Rome
Deadwood
Sopranos

Others to consider:
Fargo
Narcos
Generation Kill(miniseries since you watched Band of Brothers/Pacific)
Black Sails

If you are looking for something a bit less intense but very fun, some of the best action ever, still has that anti-hero/crime element, one of the most underrated shows on tv is:

Warrior

Agree with these (based on what you watched)

Black Sails
Deadwood
Sopranos

Partial Series:
Season 1 of Westworld
Season 1 of Rome
Seasons 1-4 of Dexter

Strike Back

Not multi year...but Zero Zero Zero is very good, and if you have AMC+ Gangs of London season one, season two should be coming out in November.

if you can stomach subtitles, i highly recommend Dark on netflix. its only 3 seasons long, but i consider it a damn classic.

I like the Expanse on Prime. Really cool storyline and has 6 seasons.

Friend told me the final two seasons are great. I am on season 5. Season 4 was a bit of a let down, but apparently lays down some plotlines for the home stretch.
