If he balls out continuously like he did Sunday, do you see the Saints retaining him for another year or two, OR do you see us staying with only Olave, and Thomas?

After watching him Sunday, 114 yards on only 7 catches is a LOT of great positional football for our offense.

Depends on the cap situation.

I can’t see letting him go if he keeps doing what he did yesterday somewhat consistently, unless it’s at an astronomical price. Keeps the Saints window open imo.

He is so great at finding areas to sit down in zone coverage….definitely would like to keep him around

While I agree, I can't see how we are going to be able to afford him if he keeps playing like this. I'm just hoping we can make a run this year while we have him for sure.

He's such a great veteran presence. The heads up after each catch to get up, hustle back to the huddle vs celebrating and cutting up.

The hustle shown after the long pass at the end with 40 seconds left shows what he brings to the team.

He will want $15 million a year if he has a good season and we won’t be the ones to give it to him. Loomis has made his stance on WR clear over the years in that he would rather draft a cheaper option than give a big contract to a vet, MT being the exception and I think if he had that to do over he wouldn’t have given him that deal knowing the injuries that were coming. Luckily Thomas looks like his same old self though. If we can get Landry for $10 million a year I think Loomis would do it but they have a number for every player that they aren’t willing to go over and they stick to that number. Examples being Marcus Williams, CJGJ, Vonn Bell and Trey Hendrickson. I bet they wish they paid Hendrickson though.

Thats a damn thorough post. If any LSU fans want to know why we might not end up re-signing Landry...refer to this post.

Everyone wants us to re-sign him, but it is what it is.

The WR market will continue to soften. There are a lot of guys coming out and a ton of really good guys who came out the last few years. I love juice, but he isn’t going to be a 10M dollar guy. 5-10yrs ago he would have been a top 20 paid guy, but not in today’s market.

Should have traded for this guy after Miami put him on the block. Dude was money Sunday and exactly what we needed in 2018.

this past offseason showed you: it didn't soften

despite a plethora of talented guys coming out this year.

the reality is, we're projected 45mil over the cap already with a lot of free agents.

Granted we can free up 40mil restructuring CGM, Cam, Ram, and Lattimore.

but guys like: onyemata, davenport need new contracts too.

Yet we landed Juice on a really good deal. The Devante Adams and CGMs of the world will continue to get paid. It’s the other guys that will take a hit. It happened to the RB market and it will happen to the WR market too.

Top guys are getting paid ... Landry is good, but his days as a top guy are gone. I love what he brings, but Olave is the future and Landry won't play for free next year.

Jarvis Landry game reminds me of Lance Moore. Was not the fastest WR, but the were great at finding holes in the zones and getting open.

I think Jarvis may have found a home with the Saints. If the offense continue to improve, having him, MT, and Olave would be dangerous for the next 3 years.

Thanks to the team overpaying Brees and his declining armstrength and Taysom Hill, it may cost us signing guys that could help us.

Those two contracts cost us Marcus Williams. I think Juice has one more solid contract in him maybe somewhere around ($5-$7mil/yr).

Team is in worst cap space next year than ever, and Brees will 100% be off the books

WTF does this have to do with any of the WRs? Hill may average 1 pass a game, and his issue is timing not arm strength.

Team cleared $50+ overnight when they wanted to. If they wanted Marcus and his contract demands, he'd still be here

I can see it a being a little higher than that, and maybe some nice guaranteed/bonuses. I do believe he would consider a lower offer from the Saints if he's able to continue this success, just simply to avoid getting into a bad QB situation.

What do you think he'd prefer, a few years with Winston... knowing he's had to deal with the Tannehill, Matt Moore, Cutler, Baker, Tyrod, Keenum, Mullens of the league

The Saints have Winston on a Team friendly deal for this year and next years.

Get rid of Taysom Hill Contracts. That thing is awful and sign Juice to a front loaded deal for the next three seasons.

Armstead, Brees, Jenkins should be off the books next year.
