In my opinion, I thought it started when the Saints extended Brees in 2018 and refused to draft a competent backup. Brees was starting to decline and we need his cost to be low to improve the surrounding talent on defense.

Loomis was kicking the can down the road for years by extending guys with dead money on the cap that limited the teams true financial flexibility.

1. Brees
2. Brooks
3. Hebert
4. Manning
5. Blake (He would be higher if he played longer)

Saban

LSU should throw the bag at Saban for a 3 year deal to set the program back up again!
It was a way to say FU to Dennis Allen. Allen has mismanaged this team so bad from the start.

Allen benched Jameis last year because he was hurt but could still play if needed. Winston lost his starting spot as a result. This year, Carr placed Allen in the same position, but he wasn't benched and continued to play bad while simultaneously blaming everyone else for his poor play.

The contract given to a benched QB because Allen wanted him was a slap in the face to the team as a whole. Kamara has said the team is playing for each other and the coaches don't have them prepared.

It was a collective FU and the fact that he's not fired says management and ownership is clueless.
quote:

What the frick has he done to deserve his chance? The redskibs offense was worse than ours and he was on pace to have his qb set the record for sacks until they benched him. Hell let’s just make Carmichael the head coach.

I guess the more than most white coaches have done to become a Head Coach. All of Andy Ried's OC's have become Head Coaches and none of them won a super Bowl as OC for him. The one that did, all the credit goes to Reid.

Oddly enough, the year without Eric B, no one seems to be raving about that Chiefs offense anymore.

I'm not saying I'm certain Eric B will be a good head Coach, but Kyle Shanahan had some really shitty years as an OC and so did Sean Payton, but they all got their shot.
Hiring Jon Gruden is just as dumb as hiring Allen was.

Gruden last winning season was 2008 the BUcs went 9-7 and the year before they went 9-7 and made the playoffs.

Gruden's record in Oak/LV before being fired was 22-32.

So are we really supposed to get excited about adding a coach whose last winning season was over a decade ago and the last time he was a Head Coach he was below .500.

Allen was a below .500 head coach and now we are excited about bring on another below .500 coach....
I support Jameis. DA is an awful coach. Jameis lost his starting job due to injury and Allen didn’t keep his same bs rule about injury at QB.

Also, Allen and Carr have thrown players under the bus all season and appear to be clueless on the problem with this team.

This team didn’t play one great QB all year and had the easiest schedule and we still was bad.

Allen and Carr beat only one team with a winning record.

With the players unanimously supporting Jameis, should be a sign that Allen has lost the locker room and should be gone.

re: Derek Carr injuries

Posted by LaTexSaint on 12/7/23 at 1:47 pm to
He is selfish. This reminds me of when Sean Payton was trotting out an injured Drew Brees when Teddy Bridgewater had the team rolling.

If Carr is hurt, sit and heal and be healthy. Carr was benched last year and I believe he feels that he has to play thru injury to maintain his spot.
15% the blame

45% Carmichael

40% Carr

The OL is not very good, however, better playing can hide poor OL play.

Better QB play could mask poor OL play.

If we are struggling to block, then we should be moving the pocket and running screens more to keep the DL honest.

Fire Dennis Allen and Carmichael

Tank.

Do a real HC Search

I recommend hiring:

Aaron Glenn as HC
Ben Johnson as OC
Brian Flores as DC

Restructure Carr, either he takes a pay cut with the ability to be traded to start somewhere else or be the most expensive clip board holder in the NFL, but he shouldn't take another snap in NO.

Trade Mike Thomas for draft picks

Draft the future QB and OL.

quote:

Carr was 17 for 22 with a TD and a pick that bounced off Juwan's stone hands.

Was that the pick that was thrown when AT Perry was wide open?

Outstanding from our $100M QB.
quote:

8. Chris Olave- Too many lows this year for a guy we thought was a huge character leader and sure handed route and hands guy

This is based on shitty QB play all year.

re: Where the Jameis fanboys at now?

Still here. I still believe Jameis has the higher upside than Carr.

For the second time, Carr has led the team into a deficit and fans are mad that Winston didn't play the hero after Carr had the team behind.

Allen has lost this team.

Posted by LaTexSaint on 12/4/23 at 8:48 am
When Allen and Carr threw Olave under the bus after Carr threw a horrendous pass, they both officially lost the team.

Then when you listen to their press conference, they take zero accountability for the failure of this team.
The entire team doesn't care for Carr or Allen. They are a tag team. Allen drafted Carr. When Allen and Carr threw Olave under the bus after a ridiculous pass from Carr, they both lost the team.

Correction: Thug has been used as a euphemism for people that act like thugs for quite some time.

Let's go with that logic of yours, so the person was saying that Mike T was acting like a violent criminal? IF so, in what way?

I carefully choose to call you: a bitch

Damn, you pretty emotionally little fella. I guess hit dogs holler is what they say.
Last week we brought in kickers after the Kicker was the only offense. This week we may bring in a RB coach.
quote:

Because Jameis can’t play

Here is another game where the offense is behind the entire game and because Jameis can't play hero after Carr gets hurt in the 4th qtr, he's blamed for the loss.

Jameis missed on those throws, but he isn't the reason we lost.

White hockey players are called thugs all the time.

Show me where hockey players has been called thugs?

Mind you this is the definition of Thug.

Thug - a violent, lawless, or vicious person, especially one who commits a crime such as assault, robbery, or murder

Either the person that calls them thugs are dumb because they are using language that they don't know the meaning of or it's code for something else.

Which one is true?
quote:

thug pos cancer to the team

What makes Mike Thomas a thug?

I will post the definition for you below.

Thug - a violent, lawless, or vicious person, especially one who commits a crime such as assault, robbery, or murder

Does Mike Thomas really fit that description by definition?
Thug - a violent, lawless, or vicious person, especially one who commits a crime such as assault, robbery, or murder

If you find yourself using this language to refer to a black player and they don't fit the definition of the actual word, the yes, calling a black player a thug will be viewed as racist.

Imagine a sport that is as violent as hockey and amazingly they are never referred to as thugs.

Not calling anyone a racist, but just be mindful of the words we choose to use.
This was some of the dumbest play calling I have ever seen. Why not call plays that goes to the sticks

I dunno, Beaux Pelini's Second Act was really, really bad.

Pelini 2.0 was some shite, but damn, it was better than this. We had talent, just often out of position. We are out of position and the talent is bad.
Daronte Jones didn't get a fair shake. The defense was truning the corner the last half of the season when Coach O took his hands off.

We should have stuck with him a little longer. This is by far the worse DL, LB, and DB play I have ever seen from an LSU team in over 30 years.
quote:

Because Gruden is an aggressive, proven playcaller who understands and has worked with Carr before. If Carr fricks up, Gruden will hold his feet to the fire. This isn’t a system issue its a playcaller calling wrong plays and not holding players accountable issue.

The Raiders were below .500 with Gruden and Carr
Why do people keep suggesting bringing in Gruden. He hasn't fielded a great offense since Rich Gannon. The league has changed.
HC/OC - Ben Johnson
Asst HC/DC - Aaron Glenn
A healthy Carr isn't a solution to the Saints problem. He's ranked 21 out of 32 teams.

Pete Carmichael is not going to do anything creative. He is at best just recycling Sean's old play that were last relevant in 2011. He is not a play caller. He is a gopher. Only Allen would be stupid enough to use him to continue Payton old junk offense. You look at guys like Shanahan and guy in Miami. These guys reinventing offenses. Carmichael just calling random plays.

Should turn the playcalling duties over to Curry? At least see if he can be creative?
