Yeah, that qb was like 100 percent on 3rd downs, most of the time under duress. Need to do something about that.

Shouldn’t it be concerning that we only had 7 real drives?

Yes, bigtime issue.

That goes to the defense being bad. Fla State had the ball for 8 minutes longer than we did; once they got the ball, it was a long drive.
The muffed punts made it even worse... we only forced 2 punts all game. And we didn't get a possession after either.

If you play 'average' quality defense, force a few punts before they cross midfield, things would have settled down. They really didn't have much of an answer for Daniels, if we get 12 or so possessions we probably win this.

The defense didn’t allow FSU into the red zone during the first half and when the punt was muffed inside the red zone our D gave up 0 points.

Sure you can, that's what we do.

And FSU should have had a FG with 1:20 left and the game would have been over. You can't play "should have" with one team and not the other.

He was saying the offense wasn’t as bad as it seems. People hate on only putting up 23 points not realizing that it’s actually not too shabby in 8 drives.

And yet they could not get off the field leading to a very low scoring game which is what we got. FSU was allowed to burn as much clock as they pleased.

Prevent gave his wide open receivers in the on the boundaries and over the middle. I don't see Daniel's moving an up tempo offense that efficiently against a normal defense.

Play selection has to improve

Reading of the defense has to improve. 4th year starter, this needs to improve along with setting the protection

We gave up 8 first downs in the first half. That isn’t a lot. This is becoming like 2020 when the offense was scoring nearly 40ppg and getting blamed for losses.

Not much we can do.We don’t have the corners that we normally have, so we can’t man up and pressure their receivers. That means we have to play some deep zones, which leaves the short middle exposed. If you flood that area with defenders it means you can only rush three and the QB will have all day. Pick your poison, but the horses are not there.

Corners did a good job. The LBs were terrible and kept losing their guys especially anytime Travis moved around. Also we can’t overstate losing Mason Smith. With a guy like him everybody else’s job is a little easier.

You think they played prevent the entire 4th quarter?

It’s wild that folks are shitting on Daniels for leading a 99 yard TD drive down by a TD with like 80 seconds left

It wasn’t garbage time shite

Whose fault was it then that the offense had only 7 possessions?

The offense didn’t put up points because we made mistakes not for lack of opportunities. Again the play count was 33-28 because of a muffed punt. That’s not on the defense, the defense gave up 7 points, zero trips inside the red zone and zero points on a possession that started in the red zone because of a turnover. The offense and special teams left 10 points on the field. Just like 2020 you guys are inverting reality because of an agenda.

The blocked FG wasn’t on the offense, so go back and show me how many times in the last two years LSU has scored TDs on 43% of their possessions and scored on 71% of their possessions. Those are the relevant comparisons for whether or not the offense made the most of their opportunities.

Good post.

Bottom line...defense MUST get off the field. Win if they do, lose if they do.

State has an excellent passer in Will Rogers.
