Blue Oak BBQ founders Ronnie Evans and Philip Moseley have partnered with the owners of the Frenchmen Street bar the Rambler, Steve Jeffcoat and Ryan Noland, to buy the bar.

The deal is set to close mid-September, both parties said.

Avenue Pub founder Polly Watts said she had many offers to buy the bar, but she saw something in this group that assured her that what she built would continue in a similar fashion.

It just opened a year ago, kind of a low key dive bar. Overall this is a good thing for the Pub, everyone involved are good people.

Hopefully they keep their mouths shut and focus on beer and food.

They will. The Blue Oak guys have been as apolitical as they can be for the past few years.

They will do a good job modernizing the place. And making it profitable.

It turns out if you concentrate on running a business instead of making hastags like #worldsbestusatoday#1bbqnola#brisket#meat, then you can make enough money to expand and acquire other businesses.

I’m assuming this somehow includes a much bigger kitchen?
Blue Oak does a decent job with their limited tap selection and the food is great as well as the service

Right? Don’t you just hate it when people bring up politics out of nowhere?

The great Chef Rob. If memory serves me correctly, I had some of his stuff at a pop up in Avenue pub like a decade ago. Someone might want to fact check me on that.

I've had Chef Rob's BBQ at various places when he was local. Does anyone know what is Chef Rob is doing these days? Where is he located?
