Not true in all of McKinney (yet). For example, McKinney Boyd High School is 60% White, 5.5% Asian, etc. McKinney hasn’t attracted the Uber-competitive Tiger Mom families yet. Your kid can stand out academically, for sure, without having to worry about “professional students” who go to another full day of school on Saturdays. The best state colleges here can be very selective and will only accept the top 10% of a graduating class (less in actuality). Do you want your kids to go to the “best” middle and high school or the “best” college?

Seriously?

If you have to come to the OT and ask this question you need to stay in Baton Rouge and move to El Cid Apartments.

If you move to Frisco you won't have to put your kids in Private school.

Go. Enjoy the smell of opportunity especially if you're moving to Frisco.

What a great time to move out there with the damn near completion of the Grandscape area (for the kids and your wife) No one needs to head towards Dallas for entertainment anymore.

shite Episcopal is like 23k per kid in HS.

30k for 2 kids is about right for a lot of private schools.

Lsu777 what is your title or just exactly what work do you do inside the plants? I always like knowing about different career paths and the pros and cons associated.

Go. I took an out-of-state transfer away from BR years ago, and it was the best decision we ever made. BR will grow on you, especially if you're a tigah, but the city has so little going for it long term. Much better opportunities for you, wifey, and your kids elsewhere.

**Just make sure to plant a huge, obnoxious LSU flag in the front yard.

His kids aren't in HS though, most private elementaries in BR are 5-8k per year, that's a big difference.
There's money to be saved on that end if needed.

Unless he's projecting to HS then sure I guess bc those are more expensive but that's 4 years

I could transfer to the Frisco/Prosper area tomorrow for my job and it wouldn’t take my wife long to establish herself as well. I need the OT thoughts?

people make fun of the burbs and all of that shite but if you are raising a family the burbs in NTX and Houston have pretty much everything you could ask for. I have a buddy who is 40 and single, he loves to make fun of his friends that move out of inner loop houston to the burbs because he says he never sees them anymore. What he and many others dont understand is once you have kids....you arent looking for most of the bullshite that is in the city, just that is be a decent drive if you do decide to pertake 10-15 times per year.

My wife and I are barely 30 with no kids and we feel like this.

There's too much bullshite around other people. Noise, traffic, crime, rudeness, etc. We sometimes think about going out to eat, and we usually end up not going because of everything you need to deal with. Parking, chances someone next to you is yelling, chance of poor service, high bill, etc.

The party life is done. We used to go out frequently, bars, restaurants, walking downtown. Now we go out to eat once a month and find ourselves wondering more and more why we don't live somewhere a bit quieter. I don't necessarily like the idea of suburban living, but I get it.

I've found that most things that are fun are done solo or with your partner.

If you can't have a good time with your wife because you had to park a little further or someone is talking a little loud, you need to reevaluate.

On Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at approximately 8:00 p.m., Frisco Police received multiple calls reporting gunfire at the Wendy’s restaurant in the 5500-block of Eldorado Parkway. Responding FPD officers learned a customer in the drive-thru was unhappy with their order, then entered the store and began arguing with staff. Following the dispute, the customer returned to his vehicle where he retrieved a pistol and fired into the front of the location before fleeing. No one was struck by the gunfire and damage was limited to the establishment.

Police say 25-year-old Regan Ritchey had gotten into an argument at the Frisco Dog Park with her ex-boyfriend over a dog that they had once shared.

Police say when the ex-boyfriend and a family member went to retrieve the dog, Ritchey opened fire towards them.

While none of her gunshots hit anyone, police say some shots that were fired did hit some vehicles parked nearby.

Is this a serious question? Collin County and you wont regret it for a moment. Youll wonder why you waited.
