Kelly hasn’t named a QBs yet. My guess is he has seen all of Daniels and Nuss’ games last year, is aware of their strengths and weaknesses this year, and is keenly aware and directed any progress. He was involved in Daniels decision to transfer and likely had hopes that he would compete with the quarterbacks at LSU at the time. I assume that in allowing or encouraging the transfer of Daniels he had a good idea of what LSU was returning. Again no quarterback has been named. Let’s hope this position works out as it has been discussed as a weakness by sports prognosticators who are in the business to know. I hope they are wrong and that one of these guys has a similar transition as Burrow from his jr year to senior but no QB has been named yet.

You don’t have to be the coach to see too many INTs. He wasn’t very accurate in the spring game either. But the spring game really isn’t a good sample. I hope he has corrected his problems. I get a sinking feeling when you see him throw that the problem is between the ears. If you watch a lot of college ball it’s THE problem with most QBs. Calm and consistent execution under pressure.

Not a good passer but completed 65.4% of his passes?

The coaches have been open about working on his mechanics to improve accuracy. It’s a known issue and one they’ve been trying to address. Hopefully it works.
It’s also likely that the coaches know their best chance to win is to get the ball to their playmakers (WRs) on time and accurately. Whomever they believe can do that best will start.

He can certainly be worse than Max Johnson

Unfortunately. This is not an exaggeration. People do improve. But the video does not lie

Nuss is in the same boat. The statement the OP made is undoubtedly true for Nussmeier.

Unless he has improved dramatically, he will struggle against competent defenses.

At no point on the field has Nussmeier looked like a quality starting QB yet.

Did he not have a completion rate of 60+ percent?

Pretty solid if you ask me.

He's got two of the best WRs in the SEC with Boutte and Nabors, plus BTJ and Bech. This isn't going to be 2014 with Les Miles, Anthony Jennings and a bunch of true freshmen WRs.

I think Daniels will start and will be the starter unless he shows he can't handle big game atmosphere that comes with playing in this conference.

You’re like the people talking shite about burrow and saying Justin mcmillian was going to be the starter.

Man, that one guy, Buckeye Joe or something, was nails. He came in 2018 saying we had the best QB in college football, took all kinds of heat, stuck by it like a boss, and turned out dead right. That guy is almost as legendary as Joe.

You just traded 20-30 hours of your life for what value exactly?

Might be time for broader perspective.

I was pretty high on Joe going I to 2019 but I was Thinking like 30 TD 8 rushing. He was like 45+ over 4000 yards. I just didn’t see it.

He was pretty gracious when he was right too.

Eh, he had 138, averaged a little over 10/game. That needs to come down to 5-7 in the SEC or he unnecessarily risks injury in this league.

What was your assessment after studying film of Joe Burrow from 2018?

The fact that it has taken so long for someone to separate themselves as the starter means BK is going with the guy who’s taken more college snaps in Daniels. I’ve seen issues with Daniels decision making but hopefully he’s getting coached up and will play lights out. If he doesn’t, Nuss will get a shot very quickly. Hopefully one of them can play well enough to get us some big wins this year.
