Oldest surviving. Most Indian mounds were used to build road in the 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s.

Are they off limits now? I used to play on 'em when my mom worked at LSU, 30-35 years ago. Didn't somebody run over some people up there?

They are no longer referred to as the Indian mounds. LSU and the progressives now refer to them as the mounds.

Yes mid to late 80’s or early 90’s. A drunk driver ran over a couple that were hanging out on the mounds. LSU installed brick ledge around them after this incident.
