That’s from 1941. Says it right on the picture and on the Louisiana Digital Library site.

The B.C. version of bullet proof plexiglass for your shop. Baton Rouge has always been a shithole

Since the sun sets on the head of the serpent at the serpent mound in Ohio on the summer solstice, I wonder if the sun use to set between the two mounds in the west on the summer solstice before that Cox Communications Hall and Huey P Long pool were there.

Well, the two that survived are minor mounds that were part of a bigger complex. The bigger mounds were used for fill dirt to build LSU.

I snowboarded down a trash can in the snow on those mounds with my best buddies. Good times

Yes mid to late 80’s or early 90’s. A drunk driver ran over a couple that were hanging out on the mounds. LSU installed brick ledge around them after this incident.

Fall of 1982, I think. A girl named Courtney Smoak (or something close) was on one of the mounds with a guy. The car killed her but the guy was not hurt. I believe the driver died of some weird brain infection a few years later - he didn’t do jail time as far as I know.

And we beg people to stay off them and parents out there telling their kids to ignore the giant barricades and go play on them anyway.

Those sacred Native American sites have been desecrated by thousands of drunken LSU fans. That usually stirs up bad consequences.

This explains a lot about some of our bad seasons

Huey had those shored up from dirt used to make the old nat because he didn't want to pay the contractors to remove the dirt.

Source: contemporary literature available in the historic documents library on campus

I've been banging this drum when the topic comes up for many years

So the mounds have nothing to do with Indians and LSU is lying? Now we have a thread…
