This is why I wouldn't empty my team to trade for him if I were a GM

Lol this is hilarious because Sean Marks thought he was smart delaying a possible trade hoping to keep KD on for one more season.
Now it will cost him his job.
Marks has lost all leverage. He either does a bad deal and gets fired (because now no one is going to give him a true haul) or he does nothing and get fired anyways.

Seems like an easy decision to fire the GM and coach

He held on because there were no real viable options on the table that make any sense for them and at the end of the day unless Durant wants to go full Ben Simmons, he’s locked in for 4 years
It may end up costing him personally, but from a team perspective he did the right thing and using that as a knock against him doesn’t really make sense
Usually the opposite happens and a GMs make bad decisions to save their job over the teams Bbest interest

It's absurd. The Nets would be in their best interest to do the same thing I said LAL should do with Lebron. We call the shots now, you need to deal with it. We'll trade you but only if it's the right deal for us. Otherwise, don't bother us. KD called the shots and is now unhappy with the shitshow he created.

This kind of shite has to be dealt with during the next CBA negotiations. The tail has wagged the dog for way too long in that league.

Wasn't Nash as HC Kyrie and KD's idea in the first place? This is the shite that happens when you let players be the GM and take over your org. Hate to see it happen.

It sucks man he’s so good and was becoming universally loved as his game was growing then he left OKC and went complete heel.
Imagine if he had stayed in OKC, stayed on the trajectory he was on and brought them a championship. He’d be the most popular player in the NBA right now

What’s the solution you’re thinking of exactly?
This simply comes down to leverage. The top end players have a ton of it because of how important 1 player can be to a franchise and it’s less risky to reach FA because it’s easier to stay healthy. There’s never going to be a way to combat that unless you eliminate FA or the talent pool of top end talent quadruples overnight

Nash was screwed the moment Kyrie and Durant farted out this galaxy brain bullshite on a podcast.
quote:
Kyrie: “I don’t really see us having a head coach. You know what I mean? KD could be a head coach. I could be a head coach.”
Durant then added: "Jacque Vaughn could do it one day. It’s a collaborative effort, I think, on our part."

Stephen A may be a clown on TV but he and others have called this for 6 plus months.
The players better enjoy it while they can.

Strangely, Durant doesn’t have any leverage.
It’s still probably in the Nets best interest to fire the GM and Nash.

Lol, no.
Marks is fine where he is. Nash shouldn’t have gotten that job to begin with but the emotional lesbian demanded him IIRC.

Also KD: Coaching is the issue, fix this!!!

I wonder if this is more directed at Nash specifically. The way it’s worded is a bit ambiguous. “Durant or the combination of Marks and Nash”- maybe I’m over complicating it but technically Marks and another coach would be a different combination
Nash looked lost at times last year
ETA especially given those Kyrie comments when he signed basically calling himself KD and Marks the co GMs
