Apparently, he liked Leonard Fournette a lot at linebacker.

That's a possibility or you are confusing Fournette with Brandon Jacobs

So what’s the speaker phone thing with BDP on an in house visit? What happened?

So didn't want to spoil it for those who wanted to listen, but here it goes.

So Franks says his phone rings and it's Duke telling him he wasn't coming on his official because, at the time we didnt have a full scholly for him and was only offering a blue shirt.

Frank asked him who he was with? Duke says his family, Frank ask if they are all close enough to hear him on speaker phone. Duke says yes. Frank says he goes into the mode of selling Duke and his family why Duke should still take his official. It works and Duke is coming on his official.

The hilarious part is he hangs up and 5 minutes later his phone rings again and it's BDP. Who tells Frank he was there on a in home visit for UK and that after hearing Frank talk he told him flat out that he should go to LSU and not UK. And that he wanted to work with Frank one day. The next year BDP was on our staff.

Just because he ended up failing miserably at LSU the last couple years doesn’t mean what he did before then didn’t happen.

O has a 30 year track record of recruiting and talent evaluation that were great. He got TM7 wrong and probably got a lot more wrong over those 30 years but he was right more often.

I remember hating Coach O when LSU was recruiting against him and which ever school he was representing...USC, Tenn., OLE Piss. He was so good

Miles knew nothing of Prescott. Gary Crowton refused to offer him as a QB. Slinger fought with Crowton about it and finally got Les to look at film with him. When Les went thru the film with Slinger they immediately went to Prescott snd offered him. He stuck with Miss St. Crowton was fired later that same year.

It’s not name calling if it’s true!

It’s just a comment on his intellectual capabilities

Him and O having a serious disagreement over O thinking they shouldn't offer TM7. While they were at Tennessee. O was an idiot.

Saw Inky Johnson say on the pivot he suggested they offer him only for a coach to say “no he’s too small”

Wonder if it was O

The TM7 argument illustrates O's short comings that bore fruit here at LSU. That camp had some of the best WR in the country at it and TM7 was shutting everyone of them down except JL80, which it seem was about 50/50. The only WR that wanted to go up against TM7 was Jarvis. O's stance was he wasn't prototypical size for a CB. Huh??? dude is wrecking everyone at the camp, but you say he's too small. No wonder Jordan Allen didn't get an offer until the new staff go here. So yes he was an idiot.

Almost all coaches were idiots when it came to Tyrann. Not one other Power 5 conference team offered him. Frank Wilson had a lot to do with his LSU offer once LSU hired him away from Tennessee. All the great recruiters passed on TM due to his size. Lane Kiffin passed even though he saw him up close and personal too. And Tyrann desperately wanted to go to Tennessee because of Frank, but Lane and co. passed.

It was a really good interview. The story about Scott Woodward by the Iverstine Farms owner was hilarious too.

Miles told him at camp he was a TE. This is coming from Prescott himself when he was at MSU.

To be fair, sometimes coaches miss on players in their evaluations. Saban missed on Vince Young because he wanted him to play another position instead of QB (better for the NFL, but not college).

True about coaches misevaluating prospects, but I remember the Vince Young recruitment distinctly, and don’t recall at any time any mention of Saban recruiting him at any other position besides QB. You must be an “insider”

He might be mixing him up with Pat White, who was committed to LSU as a WR until WVU told him they'd let him play QB

Could be one of the greatest LSU Sports Media moments of 2022. Starts at the 1hr 54min mark.

Les Miles wanted Dak Prescott to be a TE/FB.

We quite literally offered him to play qb.

He stuck with his commitment. Something young men know nothing about. He had my respect by doing that.
