Also, Lalo's death probably just eliminated Kim from being vacuumed.
You are forgetting one dangerous person who now knows who she is...Gus Fring.
Kim being vacuumed is still much in play.

Ahh. I had misinterpreted that scene for a minute. I wasn't thinking for a second that Lalo had obviously frisked him and I thought Gus had brought a gun with him and was trying to show Lalo he was out of bullets by pulling the trigger so many times so Lalo would walk up to him and give away his position. Then Gus would pull the revolver out and kill him

Lalo cranked the volume on the TV at Kim and Jimmy's when he left Jimmy tied to the chair. When we returned to the apartment, with Jimmy still tied up, no TV sound blaring.
Perhaps it was one of those old channels that goes off the air late at night. It was airing some old 30s or 40s era movie.

I’m pretty sure it was paused when Howard walked in, so most likely a DVD.

Am I the only one who thought Lalo’s death was slightly disappointing?
I get that thought, but it was also time to bring Gus more into his BB personality. I mean he was pretty badass in BB and not just a guy who hid out in his lair. I think Lalo needed to die at the hands of Gus.

I didn’t hear all those bullets from Gus’ gun go off. He got 6 bullets off?
I’m not sure Lalo would have waited that long to kill him.

It's one thing to frick with someone. It's quite another to cause their death.
100% agree.
There are a few people I wouldn’t mind see failing in my business, but I really really have less than 0 desire to see their brains blown out all over my living room and especially for that to be my fault.
It’s a come to Jesus moment for Kim, no doubt

The fact that Lalo failed at bringing evidence of the lab to don Eladio made Howard's death even more meaningless.
I don't quite agree. Imagine if howard had left the apartment and gone home, then a couple minutes later lalo comes in and all other events play out as shown. Based on what happened earlier that day, howard hamlin is now going to focus on absolutely NOTHING else in his life besides personally bringing down jimmy mcgill. It would be the sole purpose of his life from that day on. His death eliminates that threat and whatever potential monkey wrenches he would've thrown.

But again, MANY men that go through what they were going to put Howard through kill themselves. She HAD to have thought about that and was still ok with it.
And they weren’t just causing him to “fail”, he was going to likely be disbarred, lose everything and have no way to recover it and possibly be prosecuted himself.

One of the best episodes in the entire breaking bad franchise.
Vince directed this episode. This was Emmy winning material.
As I watched it I felt it was a cross between a Hitchcock movie and one of the best episodes of X-Files.
Definitely should win another Emmy.

Just saw this on Twitter
I just pulled up the episode to verify it for myself. It's about 12 minutes into that episode.

I don't mean meaningless in that way. I mean more like senseless. Howard's death was a mean's to an end for Lalo and at the end of it Lalo didn't accomplish his goal. It furthered the tragedy of Howard, which is what I think the writer's hoped to accomplish by having Lalo die the same night that Howard did.

so regarding that picture...I have to GUESS that when the writers had wrapped up BB season 4 and were putting ideas together for season 5, they had no clue whatsoever that 2 unknown people named lalo and howard hamlin would be the 2 buried. So while it is badass that it happened like that, what was theri original intent? Was it 2 people from BB that we're jsut not thinking about? It doesn't sound like vg/pg to just put in a throwaway line like that without it actually being true.

There was one of Gus' guys watching Jesse and one guy Walt came down in the elevator with to save Jesse. Those are the two bodies because Walter and Jesse didn't have time to drop them in acid before they torched the lab.

The bodies found in BB season 5 werent Lalo and Howard. They were the two guys Walt killed while going in to free Jesse.

The other thing is Howard and Lalo are buried what, 6+ feet deep and surrounded by solid concrete on all sides? And presumably more concrete will be poured over them once the hole is filled in.
No meth lab fire is gonna be exposing them. You’d have to actively be looking to find them.

I loved the brief moment when Gus astonishingly asks Kim "the lawyer talked Lalo out of it??" That right there proved to Gus that Saul would be useful from then on.
