Why do you think tennis players grunt? There is empirical evidence it increases power.

That being said grunting and dropping depends on the gym and its rules of decorum. A general fitness gym like PF with mainly cardio and machines grunts and drops are generally frowned upon and I think that is fine. Mainly free weight gyms or rooms grunting and dropping are expected. Crossfit Boxes grunting and dropping are damn near required. In the video in the OP it seems like a gym that allows a reasonable level of lunking, while I view setting up the camera for a vanity lift as being a douche such is life today.

Honestly, and I don't watch much tennis, but I really only see the women extolling loud arse grunts and yells.

I can't really recall any men doing to a high degree.

Men tend to do it more on serves because that is where at least according to the studies it has the most impact. Conners was the OG grunter but his choice to do it was likely more sports psychology than sports physiology. Djokovic, Kuerten, Murray, Aggasi, and Nadal are all well-known male grunters whereas, by contrast, Federer is quiet as a church mouse.

Even though you made a solid point at the end of your post about the guy’s general behavior, you lost all credibility here. Muscular strength is literally defined as the maximal force produced in one repetition. So if one is improving strength, they are lifting heavy weights with low reps. There’s certainly a place for that. Too many people out there criticize workouts without having a clue what they’re actually talking about

That's not what I said.

I said that working out to increase strength is not lifting your max one time. It's lifting a lesser weight multiple times.

You do more to increase your strength by lifting half your max numerous times than lifting your max one time. That lift isn't improving your muscular strength, it's tiring your muscles out.

Now, if you don't care about getting stronger, and just want to get more cut, then you should do maximum reps with minimal weight.

But understand this: getting bigger muscles does not equal getting stronger. Most guys with swelled muscles and no body fat are not all that strong. They can lift weights in the gym, but that's about it. They can't lug big rocks, pull tractors, split cords of wood, etc...

The guys who win strongest man in the world are not chiseled Apollos. They are big tanks with a lot of body fat over their muscles.

(Anticipating the Straw Man ladyboy references let me add that to pay for sex is weak and pathetic which is why we are here and not in some Pattaya shithole. )

You Might want to investigate your assumptions and notice how toxic femininity has destroyed our culture.In the 2 countries I visit regularly ( Costa Rica being the other) women love to be women and expect men to be men. And the culture isn’t designed to teach little boys they suck because they have a set of balls.

I've told someone not to drop weights before. Dude was dropping dumbbells from a solid three/four feet doing flat dumbbell presses. That destroys the dumbbells over time and fricks everyone else.

Dude in that video didn't drop the weights and he wasn't loud/obnoxious

Someone doesn't train to a peak for powerlifting meets, where you test that strength you've built, or just do a mock meet in the gym for the same purpose. Ever heard of steploading? No, because you and that other Karen don't know wtf you're talking about.
