Tell her to take her arse to Planet Fitness.

Now if he is a meathead who is screaming and dropping on regular floor or even no extra rubber mat? Karen has a case.

Seems like an awful place to train.
That looks like the Jewish Community Center gym in the SLC Avenues. I had to do a double take. Entirely too many people and too much equipment in a cramped space.

My rule of thumb for deadlifts is to control both the eccentric and concentric portion except on top end 1RMs. That looked close to a 1RM.

This kid's lifting etiquette was completely acceptable IMO. And he deadlifts more than me so I would never knuckle check him at Sonic

I agree with her. He's not working out doing that. One lift and a drop is doing a max, which is pointless under the circumstances.

Working out to get stronger is doing less weight and more reps, not straining to lift once, and dropping immediately.

This guy is a douche and should be called out constantly.

And before anybody tries to ask "Do you lift?" and "What's your max, bro?" No, I don't lift. My max is probably way less than 465. Maybe I could get just above 250 on a good day, with proper prep.

But I also don't annoy others at a public setting, film myself being an annoying douche towards others, then post to youtube bitching about them complaining about me being annoying.

ETA: And then he's walking around, fists balled up, arms flexing, staring her way like he's about to fight her or at least bow up to intimidate?

It's hilarious seeing one of the biggest femmes on this site soy-splain how to work out

I said that working out to increase strength is not lifting your max one time. It's lifting a lesser weight multiple times.

You have no idea if the guy was training for a upcoming powerlifting contest or not and if he wasn't who cares. Everyone has tried to max out at one time or other while lifting.

I don't think anyone here was gonna ask that. Your first few lines made it abundantly clear that you've never done any strength training.

you wouldn't come close

More proof you've never trained. Nothing about his posture said that to anyone who's ever put their body through what he was putting his through.

You do more to increase your strength by lifting half your max numerous times than lifting your max one time. That lift isn't improving your muscular strength, it's tiring your muscles out.

Now, if you don't care about getting stronger, and just want to get more cut, then you should do maximum reps with minimal weight

Every word of this is completely backwards

My father won several world powerlifting championships. He deadlifted over 700 lbs. Hate to see what Karen would have said about that.

Read through the end of this perfectly OT thread to say the same.

Politics, feminist bullies, and appropriate levels of masculinity aside, talking out your arse (eg MaChunks on weight lifting) is uber-douche.

Fed had those ground strokes tho. He would lure his opponents into volleys of attrition where he just kept returning the ball no matter how hard his opponent hit the ball. You could actually see the frustration and or desperation on his opponents face the longer the volley went on.
It was incredible to watch. And fun.
