I know cool story bro. Big deal to me because I live in a very rural area and this is the first time I’ve had decent internet since I moved from Baton Rouge. Install wasn’t bad except for almost getting heatstroke in my attic (took about an hour and a half). Speeds aren’t blazing but it is 60 X faster than what I had (averaging about 65Mbs). First time I’ve been able to stream. frick you Centurylink can’t wait to cancel your arse Monday.

Of all of musks ventures, Starlink is the one that will have the most impact on the world. It has already changed the course of the war in Ukraine.

It will also make musk tons of $$$$$

Hard to believe this is still a service. I'd at least have to go with satellite internet, better than dial up.

I was ordering it but the install seemed like an absolute headache to have it mounted. Then I'd have to run it into the house somehow? Just seemed like too much

Mine has been up and running since about mid May. It’s incredibly fast.

It wasn’t hard. There are only 3 pieces of equipment (small rectangular dish, 70 foot cable, and router). It aims itself so no worries about that. Mounted the dish first on my back eave (4 wide head wood screws and sealant). Went in the attic and dropped cable into foyer closet and brought it out of wall to router (notched a cable face plate to hide hole in wall). Dropped other end through soffit on back porch (this was by far hardest part, couldn’t crawl to hole so had to keep tossing cable at hole till I could snag it). Attach that end to dish, plug in router and done.

Aren't you in Starks? That's pretty high tech for that area of the world.

What kind of speeds are you getting? Mine bounces around between 40 and 80.

How far out in the sticks are you?

I am on the bayou and have AT&T wireless 5G and I just got 150 Mbps sitting inside on the shitter, I turned Wifi off.

Yesterday, I was in New Orleans and saw that some sections of I-10 had been upgraded to 5G+ in some areas.

I was getting 250 Mbps going 70 mph.

Anyone have reports of Verizon 5G network. I saw that they had large swaths of New Orleans and the Larose Cut Off area upgraded to 5G.

I am working on a project that uses cellular data and looked at the maps last week to see the coverage on different providers.

Cell service here sucks. I get 1 bar of LTE inside my house if I’m lucky.

I've had mine since January here in Prairieville.
I had an issue with the dish aiming correctly with the first kit, but the overnighted me a new one and it hasn't lost connection since.
My speeds have gone down to 30-40mbps but they did some tech support wizardry and I'm averaging around 80 now.
I also got the notice that we can start traveling with it.
