What kind of speeds are you getting? Mine bounces around between 40 and 80.

I've gotten as low as 20 and as high as 115. It usually hangs between 40-80 though.

Does it drop service when the weather gets bad?

I'd hate to not be able to stream during a storm

Unfortunately, it does drop service when a storm is directly over head. When a storm shows up, it will be out or have "no connectivity" for as long as the storm is directly on top of us but it is back up very fast. For us, it's not bad because our old internet that was with Swyft would not work when it rained either.

Mine says it's ~4% obstructed so I'll have outages throughout the day, but a long one is about 12-15 seconds and doesn't affect streaming.

That's not very competitive for major markets but I can see how that would be a huge boon to the rural community

My Cable internet was $65/month and it was slow speeds with bad service.

Sure, the $110/month is a bite, but it allows me the ability to kick Dish out for YouTubeTV and that saves me $100, so it's a wash with the exception of the initial $550 cost. I also waited over a year for the equipment.

Finally got my STARLINK delivered yesterday.
NW Livingston Parish. Preordered over a year ago. Received the confirmation email at 5:57PM today. Paid balance of $550 by 6:00PM. Now awaiting shipment confirmation.

Starlink map still shows June 2023 as the expected date service will be available in my area, but I noticed they added a couple of active cells just west of EBR over the weekend.

Looking forward to pulling the plug on my 3 meg DSL in a week or so.

In my earlier post, I stated mine was on the ground between 2 buildings. I’m having a lot of drops but the app positioning tool says 5.74% blockage and I need to find a new area. When my mount arrives, it’ll be elevated 10 feet with a 0.08% blockage.

It’s still pretty awesome.

My plan is to repurpose an old DirecTV mount--or actually a couple of them. Worked as a DTV tech for a while, so I've still got plenty of paraphernalia left over. Anyway, I plan to use 2 non-penetrating mounts that will basically straddle the peak of our 2 story house's roof. That should get me somewhere around 30 feet off the ground, and even with trees all around, it should get me a clear view of the overhead sky. At least that's the plan--we'll see when it gets here. Fun times for sure.
