My Starlink made it to Arkansas last night and is supposed to be delivered tomorrow. I joined the waitlist 2/10/21. I have an 18 year old son for the attic work and I’m ready to let him sweat.

I’m currently on Viasat’s top plan so I occasionally have pretty decent speeds but it’s around $200/month.

What type of mount did you use?

Edit: I’m in St Helena Parish

Question for current users

What ping range are you experiencing?

I'd at least have to go with satellite internet, better than dial up.

AT&T Fixed Wireless is another option for rural areas. It takes a cell tower signal and gives up to 25 MBPS for $60 a month.

At my parents', the AT&T signal is so weak that a cell phone has 0 to 1 bar, but the Fixed Wireless antenna box on their roof pulls in enough that they stream Netflix and have solid wifi in the house. All their neighbors have it.

I tried ATT Fixed before signing up with Starlink. They came out twice but I never had enough signal for an installation.

I did have a decent cellular phone signal.

Haven’t tested that out yet. I have read it’s up to 300 feet.

I must be the only happy Hughsnet customer. $89 per month , free install. Had it for almost a year and it’s never been down. Fast and Works great. Tried another service and it really sucked.

Sorry, shouldn’t have said ‘range’. I meant your latency Ping value. It should be on your Speed values screen.

I can’t wait to get this installed. Although, I can stream most of the time, our data cap makes us stream at the lowest possible resolution.

Please keep us updated over the next few days on speed and ping rate. I believe the speeds are supposed to improve after you have been connected for a few days.

. The system is getting congested, so speeds are slowing down. In February I could routinely hit 220mbits. Lately it's 60-80mbits.

Pings run 70 average. I get 80 to 200 on Hell Let Loose servers.

Ordered mine Jan 2, 2021 and got it 3 months ago. Absolutely love it. Able to work from home and stream anything is amazing.

Worth every penny.

I did put mine on a 20' pole and ordered the 150' cable to clear trees

They are expecting to solve congestion with the new gen of satellites.

If I can get 60 to 80 reliably, for example no interruptions on Zoom calls, then I will be happy.
