Hardware, tax & shipping comes out to ~$700 one-time payment plus $110/mth for service. Add $25/mth for "RV" service.

You bring it with you and plug it in.

I paid $560 one time equipment cost. Service is $110 a month.

Got my fastest down and up yesterday around 5:00 PM. 88 Mbps down, 13 up, with a ping of 92ms.

I'll post my reply from the other thread that got anchored.

Yeah, plenty of reports of people recieving used satellite dishes. I am pretty sure the "new" 75' cable I got from them was used b/c it came pre-dirtied with evidence of bird shite on it.

Mine has been up and running since about mid May. It’s incredibly fast.

Does it drop service when the weather gets bad?

I'd hate to not be able to stream during a storm

That's not very competitive for major markets but I can see how that would be a huge boon to the rural community

Nope. Everything was brand new.

I’m currently in a position that Cox is my only cable and internet option. I wanted to cancel cable and they said my bill would only drop by $20/month because of the “bundled discount”.

If you don’t mind me asking, how much did you pay for the hardware and how much is the monthly service?

Most definitely. Before this I was barely getting 1 Mbps down with Centurylink. My mom has access to the max Centurylink offers in our area and she maxes out at 3 Mbps.

Man I’m going to have to look at that. My last Cox bill was way to damn high with all the fees and taxes they tacked on.

In Louisiana? I’m dying up here in Clinton. DSL or go with an aggregator that gives you wireless data from the nearest tower.

If it's raining really hard it might slow down, I've seen it lose over half its speed. But that's still WAY faster than Century Link was, and I've never had it drop off for streaming due to weather (unlike DirecTV which always did for heavy rain).

It has dropped off a few times for no obvious reason, usually for a short time but once for close to an hour. It has been more reliable lately (and a bit slower than when first delivered - but still plenty fast for my needs).

Its very good, especially if you are in an area of low/poor cell coverage. We got by with a nighthawk LTE hotspot, but starlink is a game changer, esp if trying to WFH

Received mine today. It’s been running about 45 minutes.

70 +/- Mbps
35-55 ms latency

It is blowing my Viasat top tier package completely out of the water.

It’s currently in a temporary location on the supplied base. It will be mounted to my fascia and be about 10 feet higher than it is now soon.

Now, I just need it to keep rolling along.
