I worked with a guy who's wife hired someone to kill him. Of course when you hire a professional killer there is a 90% chance it's a cop, as it was this time.

Damn, this one was just on Dateline last week.

I couldn't help but laugh when she claimed she didn't know what she was doing at the time of the murder, then they showed surveillance footage of her van circling the school before and after the murder.

I grew up with a guy named Clay G. who was a successful 20 something insurance salesman. He was making lots of money, drove a Porsche and was on the fast track. He met this guy Ronald Hocum, who recruited him to help kidnap Hocum’s daughter. Apparently, Hocum knew Al Copeland and would get Copeland to pay the ransom money.
The whole scam fell apart and they were all arrested. Clay G. wound up getting killed before he was 30. Clay G. was a nice guy and it is really sad how his life fell apart because he befriended the wrong person.

Classmate and former foreign language lab partner got busted for murdering his brother a few years back.

Also worked with a guy, for years, who it was discovered was a pedo. He killed himself when he was found out. Awful, and I can say looking back on it, I probably should have known. But I didn't. I don't trust ANYONE with my kids as a result.

I went to high school with this Eagle Scout who was 6-6. Nicest guy in the World. Never picked on anyone even though he was huge.

Last I saw him was graduation.

20 years later I’m reading AL.com for Auburn Sports info and see an article of how he was to be executed at midnight.

Turns out he robbed a Convenience store and shot and killed the clerk.

Clerk turned out to had graduated with a degree in engineering that afternoon and was working his last shift before taking an engineering job. Clerk was married with a newborn child.

DFW News

Had a few drinks on occasion with this guy back in the mid ‘90s. Stopped hanging with him when he started putting out cigarettes on his arm. Fast-forward several years and he burned his girlfriend alive.

My friend worked for this guy for a short period of time. Said guy went on the run after his wife was kidnapped. The kidnappers ditched the woman and their van on I-10 and then drowned in the intercoastal canal. They eventually caught the husband and charged him with kidnapping. Basically he had hired the guys to kidnap his wife. Was in the news a couple of years ago.

I watched that story last night on Dateline. She bought the murder weapon on Ebay and took out over 800K in life insurance on him. She took the stand and said she had no memory of that morning.

Dugas killed attempting to escape custody

As a kid growing up in Beaumont Russell Landry was my neighbor and great friends with my family. I remember when this incident happened and him telling my dad the story of how this really went down.

The good news is an extremely evil POS is was killed and a very Good man lived to the ripe old age of 87.

RIP Mr. RUSS

I worked with one of the prettiest ladies I’ve ever known at riverside community hospital in south bossier. She was the dietitian. We had a hospital wide cookout and I was talking to her. I went to get a drink and came back and she was gone. I didn’t think much of it and I left shortly thereafter . Next day I get to work and find out one of my employees had walked up behind her and bear-hugged picked her up and tried to carry her to his car. She had thought it was some kind of awkward joke at first but as he approached his car she panicked. Police came and arrested him. He had good taste but somewhat lacked in technique.

Used to hang out at Harold Landrys house when I was a kid, was friends with his son. Was a nice guy, I thought. He eventually moved to England, and from there murdered his wife. Crazy
quote:

An American millionaire who killed his wife in a ferocious and sustained knife attack outside their luxury home was jailed for at least 16 years today.

Harold Landry, who will be 79 by the time he can be considered for parole, was found guilty of murdering his wife Lucy by a jury at Wolverhampton Crown Court yesterday.

The 65-year-old killed her after she began a relationship with another man on Facebook.

I had an Uncle Howard who was essentially the "Barney Fife" of bank robbers. It's a hell of a great tale to tell, but I'm at work and shouldn't be typing even this much right now. (Gotta get back to estimating construction projects before prices go up agai... shite! They just went up another 3%! Gotta go!)

1) A girl from my hometown who was a year younger than me gave birth to a baby and tossed the newborn in the trash. This was when she was a freshman in college. The corpse was discovered at a recycling facility and traced back to her. She was charged with first degree intentional homicide and was acquitted. My feeling is that the DA botched that one and should’ve gone for a lesser charge and she would’ve been convicted. She dropped out and moved back to our small town and wouldn’t you know it, she somehow was hired for all sorts of babysitting jobs. She pulled her life together and is married with kids so good for her, however, guess who was ridiculously outspoken after the Casey Anthony verdict with “any mother who kills their own child should burn in hell” jumbo jumbo?

2) Another kid from my high school (2 years younger) found himself in a high speed chase and opted to drive out on a frozen lake. This is in Wisconsin.. Police don’t follow him with squads but they had snowmobiles and ATVs keeping tabs on him. He drove his truck into open water, climbs out, and joins a group of dudes ice fishing trying to fit in. The cops arrive and start questioning the dude who is soaked and he goes off on a wild story about how he was being chased by black helicopters piloted by Condoleeza Rice and Donald Rumsfeld. He’s arrested and at his preliminary hearing where he can enter a plea he declares the clothes he was wearing as a sovereign nation and that he was the only citizen of that nation and thereby was the elected supreme overlord of his pants. He never was right in the head and he’s still locked up, probably in a padded room.

I knew that guy Ryan Sharpe that killed 3 people at random and shot another one up around Clinton 5 years ago or so.

I think he was a freshman or sophomore when I was a senior but he used to hang out with my friend group in HS some. We've had many beers together although I haven't seen him since I graduated HS or shortly after.

a third cousin was killed by his wife's brother when he was keeping the kids while the BiL and estranged wife were going through the divorce. i saw an amber alert for Wall, Texas and was all WTF. it's a town of 200 people.

my home church's secretary was arrested and did 15 years for fraud for stealing from the church over several years.

a dude i know was on the recent Netflix Documentary about the YFZ Cult. he was the pilot that discovered the compound.

the best man in my wedding was arrested for sexual assault with a minor. he was a children's pastor of a large church in DFW and all charges were dropped. made huge news when it happened. 0 news when the victim said he wasn't the guy.
