Weed eaters don’t fit in my hands

Get a goat.

Walk in home Depot, grab an echo straight shaft trimmer and a can of 50:1 tru-fuel. It'll be an instant 20 point drop to your blood pressure

I have a Husqvarna that has never given me any issues.

HIGHLY recommend the ryobi 40v system. I have the weedeater and edger attachments. And a separate blower.
Very well made and convenient. Never going back to gas

Weed eaters are the bane of my existence.
It’s not their fault you don’t know how to properly string them

Gas powered weed eaters have always been my nemesis. I have the reverse Midas touch. About 2 years ago, I bought a Ryobi battery powered unit with interchangeable attachments. I use it for driveway and sidewalk edging and light weed eating around bed edging, etc..
I have a walk behind Cub Cadet mower/trimmer for getting the first 5-10 feet into the woods line where the little saplings, briars, and vines like to grow. It is gas powered and has never failed to start on first pull after 4 years. But it doesn’t have a choke feature so I can’t screw it up.
My riding mower is a gas powered Husq and has never given me issues either after 4 years.
But I gave up on gas weed eaters after I determined that they hated
me. My yard work is much more therapeutic as a result.

I agree. I enjoy yard work to a degree but loathe running a weed eater.

I used to mow full time in my late teens and early 20's and loved the Echo 225's with the Speed Feed heads. They're a little light duty for heavy, dense stuff but work great for general lawn work.
I'd take the guards off to make it easier to get behind and around stuff.
The Speed Feed heads are one of the best innovations in the lawn maintenance industry.
Also, run your equipment dry of fuel before storing for the winter.

I can't even recall the brand, but I had one for a long time until we moved into a rental, and I unloaded all the crap I didn't need. When we bought a house, I got a Husqvarna. I used it yesterday.
Long story short, in 20+ years of owning weed eaters, I have owned 2. Get ethanol free gas. Etc etc.
Now chainsaws? I have owned about 6 chainsaws, including Stihl. I have had my current one now for at least 7 years, but I went thru some crap for a while and they weren't worth fixing at some point.

I've had the same Echo weed eater for 20'ish years. Runs like a top. Don't buy a weed eater at Wal Mart.

I have a Stihl and by the time I am done with the front and back yard my back is killing me but a battery powered weed eater wouldn't make it. I am to the point now of just spraying my fence line in the back yard and just trim the front because frick weed eaters.

Went to a manufacturing plant a few years back. They had test cells to cycle and run units wide open. If they lasted too long they would re engineer certain parts so that they only lasted a certain amount of time. Lab guy said it depended on the sell price of the unit as to the life cycle expected.
They had some big spots on the floor of the cells where units had completely melted.
