None of those coaches take the worst staff in conference and produce the 4th ranked ERA.They basically took chicken shite and turned it into something edible. And I doubt those coaches get Jacob Berry,Jobert, and McManus to add to the lineup.Without Johnson there is no telling what those coaches would have been able to do but I have a feeling it wouldn’t have been great this year.
I mean CPM took this pitching staff with a worse lineup to a Super last year, so I mean guaranteeing others couldn’t do better seems suspect

Having one of the worst defenses in the country doesn’t help your already weak pitching staff. That’s on Jay.

I don’t buy that shite. College baseball coaches don’t coach players how to field the ball. They coach their approach at the plate and scouting reports and pitching mechanics and defensive positioning.

fricking Jordan Thompson making every throw to first an adventure is on Jordan Thompson. Period.

He had Marceaux.

Imagine if we just had one Marceaux.

So he literally won just one more regional game? Got trashed in Tenn.

I would hate to see what CPM would have done with this staff.

LSU was given a gift to even be in the tournament last season.

I believe LSU is heading in the right direction.

Dammit, I must have slept through Marceaux and Labas pitching in this Hattiesburg regional. How did they do on the weekend?

Not really

Three have been at their schools for a bit & Sully was a huge Red Flag.

Schloss was never really an option

Bianco

Skip Bertman was still coaching LSU when Bianco was hired by Ole Miss.

Hes taken them to Omaha once.

We had more pitching last year.We didn’t even have a real starting pitcher the entire season this year. And McManus and Berry are never in Paul’s lineup and Pearson prolly never even gets a chance.Paul was on cruise control with recruiting and everything.Without Covid draft you don’t even have Morgan or Crews on this team maybe even a couple others.

Wish we got Schloss instead of Jay but still think Jay is a decent hire.

Wanna know something funny?

There is a chance Johnson would be among the coaches you just listed if he hadn’t come to LSU.

Remember, the guy who knocked out Bianco’s Ole Miss team with Arizona.

So yeah, this is dumb.

So Jay left AZ, took their best returning player with him to lsu plus others, and AZ did the same as lsu

Hmmm

Eh, I'll give him a B-.

At the end, we are who we thought we were. A top 20ish team.

That intellectually dishonest. Arizona barely made the field, lsu was on the verge of hosting a regional

Yea, Arizona had a lot of other good players. Almost like Johnson knows how to build a team.

Shows he built Arizona pretty well considering it is Arizona. Also shows just how bad the pitching was that he inherited at LSU..

I would give him a full offseason to at least address the arms.
