Why didn't he get a stickied thread like Kramer did who played all of about 2 innings?

Astros with probably the worst catchers in the league, trade him, then he makes MLB debut.

Meanwhile you have .083 and .110 in the lineup

Is he still batting switch? Insane how much he improved late in his career

Those first place Astros? Yeah, they don’t know what they doing over there. Probably won’t make a 6th straight ALCS with these kind of moves.

First in the division doesn't mean your catchers have good batting averages. The Yankees have the best record in baseball (also in the American League) and neither of their catchers can hit either.

Maldy is in the debate for best defensive catcher/pitch caller in the game.

A lot of people don't understand that catchers, SS, and CF are defense first players. If they have a poor BA those dummies automatically think they suck.

Congrats Pap

He was such a complete player, I thought he had already been up before. Proud of him for making it to the show!

Lol what?

Maldonado is one of the best defensive catchers in the game. The Astros also got a great utility player in the deal with Mauricio Dubon. Really good trade by the Astros.

Excellent trade indeed.

And Astros have a catcher in AAA that is lighting it up and one of their top prospects.

Nobody at AAA Sugar Land is lighting it up. I have season tickets and they are awful... in fact all 4 Astros farm teams are in last place in their leagues.

Man - you are out of your mind. Machete is awesome behind the plate. They don’t pay him to hit.

The main thing here is he made it to the majors. We will not worry about how long he stays. he made it to the big time and we should be happy for him.

Pap was expendable and the Giants had wanted him for a while. Astros have two studs in the Minors, and Pap would have never seen the light of day. It was a good trade for both teams.
