...and that's a rim protector.

McMahon might even have that if Jalen Reed can fill the role, and he seems to have the wingspan and the hops - though the book on him seems to be he's not all that accomplished a defender.

If they can close with the kid from St. Bonaventure or, what sounds a little more likely, get Shawn Phillips, this will be the most complete roster heading into a basketball season since Brady's Final Four team (and maybe more than that, because the 2006 team had zero depth).

Considering that there was a period after McMahon took the job where he had literally zero scholarship players in the fold and two months later he's one piece away from having all of the pieces, wow.

I was a Wade guy, but I'll be a McMahon guy. I assume he can coach since that was the book on him at Murray State and his record suggests it isn't wrong. He's definitely going to have the material to work with based on the work he's done assembling this roster.

Projected lineup:

1 - Juice Hill
2 - Adam Miller
3 - Mwani Wilkinson
4 - KJ Williams
5 - Shawn Phillips

Bench (main rotation):

6 - Tyrell Ward
7 - Jalen Reed
8 - Cam Hayes
9 - Trae Hannibal
10 - Kendall Coleman

With Justice Williams, Fountain and Corneilous Williams fighting to get garbage minutes. That is a DEEP roster.

Is Shawn Phillips committed or on the team?

Justice will get a LOT of minutes. He didn't play a ton last year I know but he was hurt for all of nonconference and by the time he was ready most of our rotation was figured out. He was a top 40 kid in his original class.

Williams is not a garbage minutes player, dude was a top recruit and reclassed a year early and played through injury most of last season getting literal shots before every game to be able to play. I think he's a better player than Hayes and Hannibal ultimately.

Hannibal has a lot of athletic ability, grit and hustle but he’s nowhere near the player Justice Williams is.

The size of the back court is the big red flag at this point.

The last remaining elite big man in the portal is Efe Abogidi from Wazzu. No idea if we have any interest but that would be a huge get. I’m also high on Josh Minott on Memphis if he doesn’t stay in the draft but he doesn’t fit with the roster.

Looks like Osun Osunniyi just committed to Iowa State today.

and too bad Jamarion Sharp is returning to WKU b/c he could have filled that role too.

Just be an LSU Basketball guy... I love both Wade and I'm falling for McMahon.

Maybe..but since this roster is 100x better than I’d have ever imagined…I couldn’t care less.

Wilkinson is a non productive player.
Needs to come off the bench.

Missing element on roster: Keith Hornsby clone that can fill it up from the outside and has the athleticism to play in the SEC.

I’m excited to see how mwani progresses this year he is a frickin hustler. When you play with that kind of effort the ball starts to bounce your way, add it’s not luck when it does.

That team also didn’t have a true point guard or a consistent shooter outside Darrel Mitchell. I hope we see Justice Williams make a nice little leap.

Were we going after the Ossuniyi (sp?) kid?

It is becoming a deep roster but you really can't determine who gets playing time without seeing them play in games. That's what the pre-SEC games are for to see who is going to be in the rotation.

The two questions to me are:
1. Can the small school talent play to the same level at SEC level?
2. Are the freshmen able to step in and play right away or are they going to need a year to settle in?

I think we know they all have physical ability but which among them is mentally tough. Who can make the clutch shots? Has Mwani developed an offense, can Fountain return to the promise he showed as a freshman? Who wants to play defense and who has the best shot selection? Who makes turnovers and who doesn't?

Can't wait to find out. Geaux Tigers!

We definitely need one more post player that everyone knows is going to be a starter imo. Right now we have several guys that might fit that bill, but we do not know.

How dare you forget the medium height white guy who’s only plus is that he can nail the deep shot like it’s nobody’s business?
