I enjoyed the movie overall but that jump scare in the tunnels was so dumb and probably bothers me way more than it should

I think it’s now cool to hate on Marvel movies so some go into the film looking to tear it apart and not to simply enjoy it. Sad.

The Illuminati should definitely be a thing in the 616.
Olsen, Cumberbatch, Wong were pretty damn good in this movie. I didn’t even hate America Chavez.
I suppose Beast will be the next Illuminati member, Stewart can’t keep doing this much longer and McAvoy is just too young.

Olsen was great in the movie. Wong was well acted but his character bothered me.

Maybe to an extent. I think criticisms are fair though. The MCU has been around for over 10 years. They aren't all going to be Iron Man or Infinity War. However, they will always be compared to those movies. So maybe it's better to take the criticisms and complaints in context than just discarding them.

Drinker called it a mess with very good acting performances considering the script and material (with the exception of America/Honduras/Guatemala Chavez) and there was apparently too much studio interference to be a true Raimi movie. Noted Strange had been completely dumbed down and did things (namely, trusting people) that his character would never have done and that the continuing efforts to make SW a sympathetic villain made zero sense.

He is like Nerdroic in that they are going to hate on everything MCU. I never put any stock into what they say. It will always be the same; girls/minorities = bad.
This movie was WAY more of a Raimi movie than a standard Marvel movie. He even had his normal editor for the film to really give it a Sam Raimi feel.
