I like the idea of the mental breakdown. That's often great basis or subtext for characters and I think the WandaVision plot worked for that.
I just can't follow the mental point of origin with all of the civilians and large number of others she endangered. Her children aren't endangered until she puts them in jeopardy.
She now knows that she should question reality. If the movie played around with her questioning reality and life and death in the multiverse maybe I would have found it more compelling.

I mean, I had no interest in seeing someone cut in half and their guts spill out. I also didn't need to see Black Bolt's head get blown out from the inside.
The point being, if the character wasn’t a woman-and I’m no biologist, they would’ve showed her death in a more gruesome fashion. I believe. Censors have double standards and practices.

Well the plot point from WandaVisions climax, Wanda taking The Darkhold is that it corrupted her more and more. As her fingers, chest plate on her armor were darkening. Much like Agatha
Strange will have this too.
And Franklin Richards will be resetting the MCU in Secret Wars/Battleworld

Is this allegedly going to be a Beyonder Secret Wars like the original one?

One of the podcast I listen to was talking about how this movie really feels like a lot was let on the cutting room floor to flesh out story beats. I kind of get that because multiple parts of the movie seem to make the viewer take a leap of faith with what is going on.
Other parts of the movie also seem obvious. The Illuminati fight had to be filmed separately because they have absolutely no reaction to Black Bolt's gruesome death. And Mr Fantastic is tortured and none of the others interfere during it to try and save him.
I think if this movie came out before No Way Home, it would be viewed more favorably. No Way Home was a very hard act to follow. The movie was simply amazing all around.

While true I feel like showing someone get cut in half would make it the most gruesome by far although the deaths of Reed and Black Bolt were pretty fricked too

Well, and depictions of blood tend to up the rating.
That's why Klingons suddenly had pink blood in Star Trek VI. The red blood originally used during the boarding scene was going to up the rating and they didn't want that.
Neither Reed's nor BlackBolt's deaths depicted much in the way of actual gore and blood.
Having someone's entrails fall out of their torso? Assured R rating.
They'll save that for the Deadpool movie.

I haven’t seen it yet, but I keep hearing stuff like this.
Whatever Marvel has become, it just feels chaotic and insane. Mr. Fantastic seems cool, but I just have no idea what is going on anymore. Professor X from the old X-men movies? And I have to watch a series to even know what’s going on in this movie? I’ll pass.
I’m interested in Thor and GotG 3, but this is just getting too crazy for me.

Marvel is comfortable with taking off the training wheels for their movies. They don't want to have to reintroduce everything for people who haven't watched 20+ movies and multiple spin off shows.
For hardcore fans, it is great. But it can quickly become like the actual comics where casual people don't want to jump into the middle of a story so they skip stuff until they feel it is more accessible.

I just feel like they’re getting to the bottom of the barrel with characters.
I’m glad that people are getting their movies, but I feel like the broad appeal is fading.

They were at the bottom of the barrel to begin with. The only characters they had to work with were the ones no one else wanted to license from them.
Guardians of the Galaxy is one of their best franchises and I would argue a large chunk of even hardcore fans forgot who they were.
Their top dogs are the X-Men, Spider-Man, and Fantastic Four and they have only been using 1 of them.
They still have an absolute ton of stuff to do. Hell technically they could do cross over with Marvel and Star Wars. That would make nerds explode with excitement.

At this point you’re either on the hype train or you’re not

just saw it thought it was good, entertaining.
I was hoping they would mix more Loki material in because I felt like that set up the whole multiverse theme in the MCU but I didn't see any.
I would guess this is post Loki timeline?

Yeah I hear that.
Marvel feels like a TV show where my favorite characters have been killed off or left. I start to lose interest. That’s just me personally.
Maybe I’m wrong about the broad appeal take. I do have to give them credit for what they’re doing. Unlike DC who just decides to reboot characters when they’re finished telling a story. Or if a character gets stale. Marvel just introduces new ones.
It’s not really my thing, but I’m interested to see how successful things are from here on out. And like I said, they still have some characters I’m interested in left. This one just seems like it’s too all over the place for me. I’ll probably catch it on Disney+ though.

Their top dogs are the Avengers my guy. The real Avengers not what’s left of them.

Are we talking about top dogs are far as popular comic characters? Or just popular movie characters?
Because the Avengers books were never super popular. I don't even recall them being on the radar in the 90s. It was all about mutants.
X-Men is Marvel's top property and once they are fully injected into the MCU, it should be a huge boost for the movies. The Fox movies were huge despite taking a lot of liberties from the comics. Meanwhile the 90s cartoon is iconic because of how faithful to the spirit of the comics.

During the heat of the comics boom of the early 1990s, Marvel published the bestselling comic book of all time: X-Men Vol. 2, #1, with sales of 8,186,500 copies.

It’s about movie characters. GotG is not bottom of the barrel anymore. They’re top dogs.
Marvel is in that transition phase where they need to be careful. The Eternals and Captain Marvel were not well received. Dr Strange has been kind of a mixed bag. Really remains to be seen. They’re getting risky with Thor. Spider-Man did really well, but that’s not 100% theirs.
They’re just kinda getting into that unknown phase. I think they’re hoping GotG and Thor can remind people what Marvel is all about.

We still have Spider-Man who’s consistently ranked at or near the top of popular superheroes. We also have the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Deadpool coming. There’s still plenty left for Marvel to use

2 moms in a different universe actually makes more sense in this movie.
